Hey ferrisb your show was on tv last night and you haven`t changed a bit....![]()
I always thought that Mick wanted Carrazzo who was probably best 22 but not an automatic start. Based on nothing but vague memories of the time.

Ooohhhhh...... Yeeahhhh....
Chick-a-chick-aaahhhh....
He would have been great.I thought it was Nick Duigan?
DaisyWho did Mick want as the captain? Someone who wasn't in the best 22?
No current season stats available
Carrots was 29 when Mick came and was missing games with injuries but he was definitely a walk up start. Think he was in the leadership group too.
I don't think Murph would have referred to a player who was not guaranteed to play every week if he was talking about Carrazzo. It feels like a fringe solid citizen to me, at least in Murph's mind. Unless Carrazzo's injuries at the time were ongoing and similar.
It was definitely Carrots. Mick thought he was the standout candidate but injured too often so went with Murphy who was seen as someone who could grow into the role. Was quoted on it previously.
Just got on. Crazy price.
Nice insight here, particularly the last few minutes minutes with some admiration for Gary Ablett and Sam Walsh.
Me too. Though I'm not sure this is the place to be discussing it. Everyone seems to be sick of betting ads and here we are adding to it.Just got on. Crazy price.
Would have to go down as one of the worst coaching hire decisions in the last 20 years. Sure you can have a coach come in and underperform, but to trade out all your best players and replace them with garbage, completely polarise a significant portion of the playing list and leave the place in a worse position than it started - not to mention the media dummy spits….. it would go close to being one of the worst appointments in modern AFL history. Mark Neeld at Melbourne definitely up there as wellOur club never should have hired Mick in the first place. He was nothing more than a Collingwood Mole in the end. What were we thinking?
Doesnt seem to be any markets on Sportsbet yet. What price did you get on at ?Me too. Though I'm not sure this is the place to be discussing it. Everyone seems to be sick of betting ads and here we are adding to it.

LOL even mick wouldnt try to pull that stuntDaisy
I reckon Mick came in with a “Carlton scum” mindset being Collingwood royalty. All around foolish and stupid decision making from the club to hire him and fire Ratten.
More than happy to do so if that is the case and happy to leave them to the club, along with the 1959 History of the Carlton Football Club hard covered book signed by the entire list in 1967 and the huge framed piece with the 1968, 1970 & 1972 footy records and the Carlton Football Club yearbooks from those years.
