If I'm honest, I don't really like that, either. It's either the truth, or it's a narrative, a story. A story can be true, but not all stories are true.

I can do a little digging online, and I can find people who fully and sincerely believe that the earth is flat, that it's 'their truth'. Hell, I don't even need do any digging; there's a board for this stuff on this website. Ditto, alien abduction. It might be 'their truth', 'the truth as they see it', but it isn't true.

Probably a bit heavy for the Carlton in the Media thread, anyway.

I can't speak for SOS. It's either the truth or a story. I believe him, but I can't testify that it is true. I also can't testify that it is false but SOS believes it to be true.

So couching my language so as not to speak in absolutes is what I choose to do. People know what I mean.

yeah, always struck me as an inept, clumsy thinker..........fmd.............

From the days where he lasted about one episode on “The Footy Show” - he’s always been a very ordinary media performer.

you genuinely thought I meant his written resume?

And you genuinely think he’s a good media performer.

He may have thought that he was going to get to have his say yesterday on his cross network promotional and interview yesterday on SEN, but Watson and Lyon played him like cheap violin.

I didn't say that - I just resent this portrait people are painting of him as a media buffoon with no ability to think for himself or answer a question without notice
In defence of comments yesterday, I don’t think he is a buffoon or can’t respond independently, I saw that interview as contrived to pollinate Trade Radio next week. They set ‘em up and SOS hit them for six, as he was expected to do. Might have been a little hyperbolic in getting that across, admittedly.

What damage? People are talking about it. What else?
I just don't think it's what we need now. We are trying to build a positive environment embodied with a strong culture. It's not what we need and the timing isn't great with trade period looming and us trying to entice other players.

Definitely no buffoon. SOS knew exactly what he was doing with that interview.

His perspective?
His point of view?

A claim to having the truth is - in my opinion - an arrogant one, even if it's made every day.

I agree, but people will be people and one doesn't need a degree in psychology to know that people will almost always express a situation from the point of view where the outcome favours themselves and claim their story as 'the truth'; It's always the other guy that's got it wrong, or is in the wrong.

Don't get too wound up about silly terms people use, as otherwise we'll paralyse ourselves and distance ourselves from 99.9% of the population. :)

Thought it was interesting that when Sam McClure said it was disappointing the club hasn't come out and responded he was pretty much shot down by everyone on the panel saying the professional thing form the club was to say nothing and don't give it any oxygen. Eddie could not have been more adamant.

He's a journo... of course he wants the club to retaliate.

I’d appreciate you laying out his media/admin resume...
Because you have to be a media expert to carry out an interview on a sport's jock brekky show. Spare me......
