Caro is an old school type journalist living in a world that demands controversial takes in the "now" that are forgotten in the short term.

As far as the public is concerned, I think we've been conditioned to overreact and make a mountain out of a mole hill out of all of these controversial takes.

It takes controversial takes to get noticed and all for the wrong reasons.

Back in Caro's day journos were going a lot harder than what her current takes are. Nobody batted an eyelid. Journo might have been considered a w***er or a toss pot but that's about it.

Who is big enough to stand up to Mumford without becoming another victim of a cheap shot? Do we send every player to him so he can knock them all down? Would only encourage the sniper.

Don’t forget Daisy bumped the tagger that was scragging Cripps and the umpire couldn’t blow the whistle quick enough to give GWS a free kick because the tagger “wasn’t expecting contact”. Can’t find that rule in the book, if it was then Cripps would have been paid more free kicks than a rampant Eagles team at Subiaco.
