KRock.. Getting in early with some questions
1. Tom Kelly? Is there talk about him or his wife are home sick?

2 Our ruck problem? Is Ryan Abbott a chance to be given a AFL Debut? His been playing well in the VFL and the only way to see how he goes at AFL is to give him a chance...

Ill join you with a few early questions foxdog50

1. A Part time ruck coach. We have a potential match winning midfield with a glaringly obvious deficiency. The bloody ruck!! Why on earth cant we hire/poach a specialist ruck coach to help these guys out. I know our 2 main ruckmen have a very limited skill set but surely we throw everything at maximizing what should be our greatest strength?

2. Why is it, that when pressure is applied the Cats seemingly go to water? We seemed surprised, shocked and overwhelmed in the first quarter. Essendon were always going to come out with all guns blazing on Saturday, they have been under some serious media scrutiny during the week. Obviously the match committee covers all things tactics and strategies but can the coaching group and playing group discuss and plan for an onslaught like we received on Saturday?

Thanks for creatively navigating thru the s**t show that was last week. Not sure I could have kept commentating on that one.

Kingy's best move - missing that one! Benny has some serious stones to sit thru that.

Question this week. Did the team call the plumber to clear the blockage of #%# that caused the backup of crap that overflowed and became last weeks game?

More specifically - Brandan Parfitt - There are very conflicting reports about his foot. Is he back training or is he still resting his hot spot.

Big Sav - A likely inclusion this week or will he follow the Lachie Fog school of management and be out for 2?

And speaking of L Fog and his 2 weeks off - will he be back this week? He and Scooter will add some much needed defensive pressure.

And keeping with the Cats preference for late changes - WTF happened to Dan's groin? There was talk in the media yesterday by him about TRYING to be ready for Finals. Whilst its great to have a long term outlook and goals... where the hell did him playing weeks 10 - 20 suddenly go?

Rich just got thumped by WestCoast... moving it quickly , by being aggressive in ball movement , hitting targets , and having forwards who mark and convert. Helped also having rucks. NBuckley says we are the slowest ball moving team in the comp... .It works very well at KP but we are now 6 wins from the last 12 games at the G , say that our success there is questionable in recent years. What confidence do we have that this slow moving style will be any better than than the dire outcome we have had in finals from 2012 on.

Personally winning better be the outcome..as the way we play now is not "playing the game as it should be played".. having such a defensive game is rubbish to watch most of the time. Not all are lucky enough to get paid to go to the footy and its questionable if its worth the money at times to watch this AFL version of rugby.

We pride ourselves on having great ability at the draft and being able to develop players. There is no one better than Wells... yet our rucks development has been poor for a long time. When was the last time we drafted a kid and he developed within to being a good player. Stephen King? Ottens trade. Mumford Mature find. ..and most of the others have been ordinary. We currently have two failed and traded in players rotating as our rucks... our coach must really be unhappy with it to put Danger in the ruck... someone needs to remind him of what happened to Stoneham when rucking. Broke his leg and was never the same..Can you imagine the reaction if Danger got hurt rucking? We also have Abbott who was drafted as a mature player.. at 25 he will not be getting too much better... Is it time to give this guy a go... my pov..anything is better than seeing Danger in the ruck

Guys ..thats for the comments in relation to my question..

I do understand the principle of cutting another clubs grass with slow developing tall players , go and trade a ruck in from another club.let them have the cost and spend their time...but do we ever trade in a #1 ruck from another club? What tends to happen is we really do not trade in successful rucks..we trade in players we hope are undervalued , that have not be used correctly etc. Basically we trade in B grade..and hope we can make it A grade.. and so far it has not worked. Sure ..it takes too much time to develop a ruck ..and yes they can fail too but imagine if all clubs are doing this .. everyone waiting for another club to develop the ruck.Where do the players come from? Baskeball? Athletics? Irish Barrelling rolling? Not sure they have a brilliant success rate either. .. but Ok I can see the logic of trade in for now.. fine go and get a Stanley or a Smith or a Clark.. but to the have an Abbott as our young development player ... that listening to you , is not ready at 25... what the point in that. Trade in for now..but add a kid , have at least one young ruck on the list developing.. it may only be one Rookie spot... but as I said the last successful self developed ruck was King. Our best trade in ruck was Ottens. The commonality here is they we both very early picks.. maybe its time to pick a kid..one with a bit of talent. Maybe if we do lose Kelly then it may give us that chance as this year has several talls.

And you may think the MCG thing is low hanging fruit.. but our record there against anyone , not just top sides .. has been poor for ages.

Is there an underlying arrogance pervading the mindset of the players when competing against lower opposition? Failing to pull together a disciplined four quarter performance seems to be par for the course with this side, unfortunately.

Can this arrogant attitude be overturned, or will the Cats coast through to the finals on raw talent and find themselves get knocked over by a more determined, well-drilled side in the prelims yet again? The premiership window is closing.

KRock Team.. ( you have asked my questions in just your general discussion lol) so I thought I'd ask a bit of better question

I'd like to hear on what you think of how the game is played. If I didn't love Geelong as much as I do I wouldn't follow AFL. The whole game is such a congested game. As much I hate rule changes but they have to do something about it so that they play game is more open eg like a full forward will play full forward.
Local Football is better to watch as the players actually play there position, skill might be not as good but far better to watch.
Look forward to hear what you think of the current game. Cheers FoxDog50.

Questions - do you have them?

As the resident proctologist.. may I suggest a full week long dose of All Bran to clear the blockage of crap footy that has been backing up the Cats in the last 2 weeks.

I had previously posted after the Dons game that the commentary team deserved praise for making it thru that one, well the team last week V Blues have one upped them after making it thru an even worse spectacle.

What cheeses me off - When you book an exit row on an 15.5 hour international flight and you strategically pick one on the aisle with the middle seat open - and there are still 150 open seats on the plane - then some Amoeba comes along and books the MIDDLE SEAT - who books the MIDDLE seat on a 15.5 hour flight. Who effing does that ... THE MIDDLE SEAT... are you deranged !!!

Rant over...

Best wishes to Sav for a safe and speedy recovery. I cant see him getting back this year - in fact id almost prefer he didnt and got 110% right for 2019. Gonna take time to get confidence back in that leg - dont need another Mitch Brown, Barry Stoneham, Matty Egan or dare I say Cocky experience with early returns after major issues.

On the back of Sav going out, how do we best structure up. Does Buzza become Sav? Do we run Stanley as CHF and Smith in the ruck? Does a one legged duck swim in a circle? Im for anything that competes hard for the full measure and wont wait for someone else to do whatever work is needed to get the bloody pill and create a postiive clearance start for us.

WTF happened to Menz groin? I got reports( im connected you know) it was being assessed at Area 51 by the US military - so mysterious and alien has it become.

And how good was Sam Simpson in the VFL last week.. Very keen to park the peepers that one at Icon park on Sat!

When a player like Sav goes down do you think it is better to fill his role with the best fit, or change the structure to bring in the next best player instead?

I feel like our best performances this year have featured our beloved ruck/fwd heavily and that even if it is a downgrade overall the team would be better served by having Buzza or Stanley try to play in that capacity. At the same time it seems the club prefers to just bring in whoever they see as the '23rd man' and warp the shape of the team to fit.

If you had one piece of advice for Rhys Stanley, what would it be?
A. Tackle, tackle tackle
B. Compete for the ball
C. Get to the fwd line asap
D. Stop worrying about the tap just go after it after the other guy taps it
E. Go back and play VFL and don’t come back till you’ve kicked a bag

A great win last week -

Any truth to the rumour that the team got a spray from CS at 3/4 time?

How good was Jordan Cunico last week - in fact the last month - he's got a raking long kick, is deceptively quick and has been finding the goals as well.
Another Wells pick in the depths coming good - or at least showing the ability to play at the level.

And can Ryan Gardner pull a reverse Domsy and go from being a career defender to a forward? At 198 and 100kgs he got the size... and 6 in the VFL aint a fluke. Needs to be consistent is his performances but its got to be a good start for him.

And locked in for next week!

Just wondering do you know anytime frame on Harry Taylor?

Would like to know what you think of Aaron Black form in the defence? Do you think him making the with may have saved his career for another contract...
