Why oh why did we give up the Lewis pick for the Chad and Egan... the guy is a tank, averaging 27 disposals and everyone of them deadly accurate :(

Wasnt just him. Could have even traded the pick 10 pick to get to Moloney. Cats wanted to offload him and Melb ended up getting him with 12 I think.

Look Egan can still make it. He is an X factor footballer but just needs to develop some hardness and consistency. I do think he is more suited to AFL than VFL.

I fear he is another Cole. Loads of promise....but thats it.

Agreed with that comment. Some players just can't find it at a level lower.

He possibly can't find the space back there, the tempo is too slow etc.

I'm sure he will play his best football when he come back to the senior grade.

We did the deal because we could trade down a couple of spots and still get the player we were targeting which was Egan. In case you haven't noticed Lewis can get the pill and use it but has the speed and dexterity of a lamp post. Adding another slow player to our midfield group would not have been smart. I like Lewis as a player but he's exactly what we didn't need and I'm happy with Ego as a future wingman or forward flanker. Lewis also has a mature body whilst Ego is still developing his, don't push that panic button prematurely.

Umm, or you could take a long term view or run around screaming "the sky is falling", you appear to have made your choice.

Yeah Chad was a long term view eh
Chad was secured for a late 3rd round pick and was getting a regular game and starting on the ground for a very good team in West Coast. It was a punt that didn't pay off but it hardly put the clubs future prospects in any danger. Next you'll be starting a thread on why we should have taken Hurn instead of Pendlebury.

It was stupid... every man and his dog knew it was stupid... not a single supporter thought it was a great move... and it cost us.... now harden the #%$@ up

Cost us what exactly user of Ronny Johns cliches? We wanted Egan, we got him, end of story. So we pissed away a third round pick, whoopy pharkin do, the vast majority of third round picks or higher turn out to be spuds anyway. Why you feel the need to run a warm bath and get the razor blades over the Chad is the question you need to ask yourself.

Oh yeah and we all believe Egan was the one we were after... we got the Chad at any cost... that cost is now one of the premier midfielders in the league

If you are having trouble finding him, Lewis is the one just above Judd in average disposals

He is right, chad was a ****ing reject dud who was about ended from injuries, lewy is the exact type of footballer we should have picked that draft. And we would have taken him if the chad didnt roll along and **** everything up. Lewis should have been got to replace monty. but what would i know.

Egan was the player Derek Hine wanted that year and we picked him. You obviously have a preference for large bottomed midfielders who are slow, exacltly the same as the Wiz who you rip into any chance you get, the irony! Which means you would have wanted a player like Hurn over Pendlebury. Maybe if you realized that some players develop faster than others (one reason of which is body type) this would help calm your belligerence towards the club and you wouldn't have to keep changing your internet identity.

who is to say we wouldn't have grabbed egan at 7 anyway??

lewis is a meh type player, just accumulates possessions, isn't quick, and just so so skills

performs the role that lockyer does for us at hawthorn

egan could still turn into a game breaker type player, lewis will never be that player

egan finished off 06 in good form, shame he injured himself and yet to play a game, wouldn't surprise if he comes in this week or ANZAC day and kicks 3-4 goals and rips it apart on a flank-wing, but then the next week he does very little
