I certainly respect her, I'm just fickle with reasons for liking/not liking players. Not a fan of her temper tantrums on court. She does seem to have mellowed lately, though it's not a grand slam so she just might not care that much about the Hopman.

Jim Courier isn't very funny. I like watching the tennis and it's great fun going down to the Aus Open but man, tennis crowds are so moronic. Whenever he gets on there and asks Federer a question, and Federer guffaws with his false "daw well aggh jeez I guess ahhh" they'll start laughing. It's bizarre. I don't actively hate Jim Courier but he seems pretty ****ing annoying.

As for Serena, she's the best personality in the game. She still seems pretty normal off court and has a good way with the media, she doesn't stand for their shit but she can be pretty entertaining as well (unlike the deadshits of Sam Stosur et al). Ludicrous player as well obviously and I'll always have time for angry players. They're valuable to the game and they show passion – and not in a twatty Lleyton Hewitt way.

Parents won't get foxtel so I have to deal with the shit that is free to air TV everyday. Its a race between them and 10 for worst channel on earth. Useless TV shows everywhere, toss up between neighbors and home and away for the most unoriginal, pickable story lines and they have the most annoying personalities to have ever existed on Australian tv

Courier plays the fool in his post-match interviews, presumably because that's what the network wants, but his commentary is very intelligent and insightful. When he is paired with Lleyton Hewitt in the box, it's a genuine pleasure to listen to.

He also mercilessly takes the piss out of Bruce McAvaney's endless stats and inane questions. I'd love to see what he'd do if they paired him with Basil or Hamish.

Actually thought their tennis coverage has improved a fair bit. Their commentators still suck, but they're getting better at timing their ad breaks, and this year they're actually using the multi-channels instead of preempting matches for other programmes.

They've passed the baton to channel 10 as far as worst broadcaster of sport is concerned. It took channel 7 a while but eventually they came around to the fact that no one is buying delayed coverage in the internet era.
