Theres no way we should ever give up our Brock.
If Juddy DID come, would he steal Brock's potential captaincy? Cause that'd be REALLY disappointing to me.

Wasn't it Garry Lyon?

Yze only became a prominent player in 1998, so Judd would've been about 14 years old then. I'm sure he would've had posters on his wall before that age.

Only 1 small problem in trading for Judd. He dosen't want to go.

Lets be realistic he is the reigning Premiership captain entering in the prime of his football life with a team that is capable of challenging for a flag in every year for the next 5 years.

Besides having his mum tuck him into bed every night what possible incentive does he have to go to a bottom side.

If Judd was playing for Fremantle it would be a different story.

I agree, the only reason he would leave is that he is sick of playing with a bunch of drugged up losers and wants to come home. But I wouldn't want to be near my mum if she wrote a song about me.

Not that anyone cares...

Scott Pendlebury, yes the lovechild of most people around these parts was a Melbourne supporter and we can only assume he still is, or hope so. His footballing hero is none other than Cameron the Bruce and I believe we should attempt to attract him to the club solely on this basis.

...

'Dreeeaaammmerr you're nothing but a dreeeeeaaammmmmmeeer!'

Re: Judd to the Demons

In seriousness I seriously doubt Judd will even contemplate leaving WCE.
Can anyone think of a reason why he should leave WCE? They will be a power in the AFL for years to come, he is settled over there, he is the captain, why would he go?

Home is where the heart is. I completely and utterly understand what you're saying and to an extent agree with you but it's hard to tell with Chris Judd. We don't know what kind of person he is cause he's just so goddamn hard to read. He may be a romantic and think he'd love to come back home and win a flag with the team he adored as a child or he could just be happy over in Crackton WA with his good buddies Cuz, Kerr and so on.

But you never know. Someone as good as Chris Judd, you'd think the very, very best players are one club players. But then again you look at Mathews, Buckley...

We can only hope

I can understand people wanting him at the club, I would trade my left nut for it to happen, but I think we'd ultimately lose out in the trade because we'd have to give up so much.
I'd give more for Pav though. Judd's a better player but if we had Pav and Neita can play out his years without being the main target we would dominate.

Personally I'd rather Brown in the forward 50 but that's just me.

And yes I agree, the costs would greatly outweigh the benefits in a Judd move

Re: Judd

Bate, Davey, Rivers and Bell are the untouchables on that list. Personally I wouldn't let Green go, and Bruce's value must have fallen a long way this season. They wouldn't take Robbo or Yze as part of any serious trade, and that only leaves Miller who isn't much of a fit for a team who already has a wonky forward line.

If we're serious about rebuilding then Johnstone must be expendable. An extremely controversial call I know but we've got midfielders coming out the arse at the moment and he will never the superstar of the competition that he threatened to be a few years back.

Let the bottles fly.

Re: Judd

I mention this everytime when clubs go after big name players

You have give qaulity to get qaulity

Given 5 mediocre player does not eqaute to one superstar

All I'd take from Melbourne is Brock + 1st round pick [this ins't a great draft] + a swap of the 2nd round picks

It may look a lot, but when you want to get the best player in the AFL you have to pay for him

Judd would be great but brock is the heart of the side.

Re: Judd

Can we please lock this thread/merge it with the old Judd thread, our chances of getting him without trading half our side are slim to none and we don't need to see any more prospective trades that have half our team going to Carlton and West Coast for one player, whilst Judd is good he alone won't get close to winning us the flag.

second that.

Our offer for Judd would be unfair to the eagles, and eagle's demand price would break our team. So Judd to Melb ain't gonna happen
