seems that way. what can be done? I feel pretty powerless as a supporter. It would be nice to get to the bottom of it
Sack Richo

Everything will come good.

Your penis will magically grow three inches.

Moorabbin will be covered in fairy dust.

Players will improve overnight and we win the flag.

Just like the pumpkin in Cinderella, they will be transformed into elite players despite their lack of talent.

Pretty simple really.

Just sack Richo and the world will be a magical wonderland.

What shits me is Carlton get Cripps and Curnow, we get some guy who reminds me of another 13 guys on our list every year.

2013 you just need to look at us compared to Adelaide. We have pick 3 18 and 19....they enter it at 23. We take Billings, Acres and Dunstan. All of them are okay players and we are still looking for them all to reach their potential, Adelaide get Matt Crouch who is already a star mid. Riley Knight who looks as promising as Dunny and Acres, Kyle Hartigan and Rory Laird off the rookie list. Laird is a super star player, Hartigan is a very solid tall defender and looks as good as our talls.

The year before they were banned from the draft and got Rory Atins at 81. 2014 they got Lever, Wigg, Mc Govern....we got Paddy, Hugh and Danny Mac.
if we drafted the blokes you mentioned i have no doubt the argument would be the same but the names changed, because we'd find a way to turn them all into complete an utter spuds

Richo’s members message singling out Armo positively.

“Dave competed reasonably strongly whilst he didn’t have a significant influence on the game”

Why even mention Armo? Campaigner knows his number is up and is trolling us now.
I think he's trying to make a show of how much he's prepared to back his players in. I think it's more about gaining the trust of the boys. Which is fine i guess in theory, but every man and his dog knows that armo's game last night was the worst of his career (and most careers). 8 touches 5 clangers. Maybe try and do it more subtly next time alan

I think I'm starting to appreciate how consistently richo is backing the players in. I'm starting to reconsider my call for sacking. Just read tony's post on saintsational

'OK, I’ll lay it on the line right from the start. I’ve been St.Kilda my life and as somebody who is within the four walls ( so to speak) I can talk with knowledge, experience and inner sanctum know all. But this spiel is passion. Don’t ever any of you suggest that this team and club is not playing for the coach, the club or it’s supporters. I witness them not on tv, not on the seats but raw. I know what they give. I know the energy, enthusiasm, the will to succeed.
What they have not is the skill/ confidence to execute. Whether they will come in time I as much as anyone cannot answer that.
But don’t ever, ever think that this team is not giving everything for their supporters and coaches. They are bleeding and so am I.
Apologies for the rawness. I love this club and so do all the representatives that front every day and every week. There’s very few clubs in the world with the longevity of St.Kilda F.C. No one is giving up.'

maybe we can fix our development, improve our talent finding abilities and phoenix this sh*t into a real team? If the coach still really has the players after the next few weeks, with us at 1 and 10 or whatever it will be, that's pretty impressive. what doesn't kill ya kinda thing.

but yeah if we can snag clarkson of course do it. I dunno. I think the main problem with this year might just be goal kicking and silly expectations

I kind of hope that after each members message when the camera cuts off, Richo goes off on a ‘Jonathan Pie’ style expletive laden rant about everything from the execution of basic skills to the list management ability of Trout/Elsaugh.

Like this (an old one but one of the best ones):

Good news is Damo says there are clauses allow us to get out of the deal
There had better be, because Ralph or someone of his ilk said a few days ago that Clarko is after/demanding $1.5 mil PA from Hawthorn, so if we want to poach him you'd think we'd have to offer him at least that much, and then on top of that you've got to pay the team he brings to assist him, and you'd imagine they wouldn't come cheaply either.

Scary isn’t it. I refuse to believe our talent ID is off, the guys we pick are generally rated highly as juniors however don’t come on in the AFL. Development & coaching is the issue!
Case in point, Melbourne are now being lauded for their drafting/talent ID over the past 4/5 years, yet who would they have taken (according to Melbourne themselves) at picks 2 and 2/3, in the 2013 and 2014 drafts respectively?

Jack Billings (who Roos says they would have taken ahead of Josh Kelly had they kept pick 2) and Patrick McCartin.

Why, because they are "dud drafters", like Trout supposedly is, or because those two were considered extremely talented, after outstanding junior careers, and consensus top 3 picks, who the guys that identified Hogan, Oliver, Petracca, Brayshaw, Neal-Bullen, Hunt, Fritsch etc would have drafted at either picks 2 or 3?

I'm going to go with the latter, and I would also confidently say that had they been at a club with better development and coaching, and with better current leadership, they would be tracking far better than they currently are with us (even taking into account Paddy's injury issues).

We saw the talent that Billings for instance possesses last year. Three 3 Brownlow vote games, including one of 30 disposals and 5 goals, yet this year he's battling big time, despite a second full type preseason and being closer to his prime years.

Is that because he's untalented and those games he played last year (or his 25 disposal 3 goal game in his first season, or his matchwinning game v WB in his 2nd season, etc) didn't actually happen, or what?

He has the talent, but it's the job of those coaching/developing him to bring out that talent on a consistent basis, and they're clearly not doing that. If it's not in fact their job, what the hell are we wasting our money paying them for?

He, like so many others on our list, is not playing anywhere near as well as we know from past experience he can, which means that Richo and his team are failing to get the best out of them, and that I would have thought is coaching at its core.

Getting the best out of your team and those in it.

If you're not getting anywhere near close to that, what point is there in you being there?

I read somewhere (social media I can’t recall exactly where) that the pay out figure is a very modest 3 months of his yearly salary therefore probably in the 125-150k range.
