Stats & History The City of Sweet, and the World Around It

For kdavva74 :

Some International sports events are on record on the planet of Marut. However they date back as much as decades, and even predate the full development of some of the regions on the globe. Please find following what information is available:

International Athletics :
International Athletics were staged in a Gold, Silver, Bronze format. I found some old handwritten documents and the following compiled MS Word version.
International Sports 3.jpg
The first data refers to each competing nation / island (group) and the total number of medals amassed - seemingly awarding 6 pts for a gold medal, 3 for a silver, and 1 pt for a bronze. The second set breaks this down into a table by event, and the winner of each medal.
Only competing "nations" are mentioned, and even then, RA (Ranutalley) is actually an entire continent consisting of many nations - but as it was largely undeveloped at the time, it contributed a team on a continental level. Seems by the results that this may have been a dodgy decision!
The remainder are nations, nation-states, nation-continents or nation-islands. But sadly, the continent of Eksapilani and Sweet's nation, Hindealla, is not represented.

Astion Football (Soccer):
While there is no reference to an international competition (Anipor Ballek has a national one), there is a zoning system recorded in a spreadsheet that suggests some regional championships may at least have been earmarked. Generally, these zones follow continental geography, sometimes splitting populous land masses up, other times grouping multiple archipelagos together. In the case of Sweet's continent (Eksapilani), one zone applies equally to the one continent. The zoned nations are Mibara, Ibarawa, Gwendehara, Hernoo, Terethondetin, Hindealla (where lies Sweet) and Carmanta.

No results from any matches are recorded.

Tennis : ( JackNah_8 will probably faint to find this out )
There is a record of 2 knockout tennis tournaments that crossed national boundaries. The first shows only a list of players, and the documentation of the second is blurry, but the competitors and winners are discernible in the latter. Some form of tallying system is also shown but is very difficult to decipher.

The first tournament includes 3 players from Eksapilani, the continent on which Sweet resides - Martine Bede, Craig Harverson & Paul Stratford. However it is not known their nationality, which is curious. Nor is it known how they fared, or indeed how anyone fared!
Marut Tennis Slam 1.jpg
In the second tournament, it is shown that the overall winner was a Daniel Leigh from the island continent of Anipor Ballek, however four players are identified as representing the continent of Eksapilani, where Sweet resides. Again there is no further breakdown into nationality. But perhaps one of William Fehring, Colin Bryant, Jerome Characheris and Richard Fordham (all from the EK continent) were Hindeallan!

Note: None of these names show up in any residential records for Sweet.

Unknown International Competition :
The final artefact exhumed that suggests a sporting competition which crossed national boundaries can be seen in the following image, which sets out some form of scoring system utilised to produce results. No thoughts of how this system was being played out come to hand, however it's clear that continents and islands were being pitted against each other, evidenced by the abbreviations on the mid-left, which indicate NIC(apilani), EKS(apilani), RAN(utalley), ANI(por Ballek), WEH(uda), RAI(maberana), LAE(anil) and BIE(rzenin). The continent of Ricapilani was very often erroneously recorded as Nicapilani in earlier times.

Further analysis leads me to suggest that the above calculations were used to determine an entry ratio into the second tennis tournament. It seems that a number set from 1 to 100 was developed based on a preconceived split favouring some larger locations over other smaller ones. The number 4 being listed far to the right of the EKS abbreviation seems to correlate with the 4 players representing Eksapilani in the second tennis tournament. Continuing to apply this model returns an exact match, with the two groups LAE and RAI returning 0, and equally presenting zero players in the knockout table.

And that concludes the dig. Thank you for your support. I shall always wear it.

Well TDC, at some point in the season going going gone, you mentioned something about other worlds in the vicinity. Now you need wonder no longer!

Sweet resides on a planet known as Marut. It's full name is Marichuribanelsilogonethendanabut. But we don't like to talk about that.
Don't believe me? Check this out - it's a label salvaged from a folder that dates back to about 1990 :
Label from old Marut Cover(rotated).jpg

Anyinstagrammer, sometime also long ago, but not that long ago, this happened. I have recently played with the scans of the paperwork to make them more understandable on a forum.

System : (body sizes are exaggerated x100 so that they are visible)
full_system(size_reduced).png

Here is a not-to-scale(-at-all(-whatsoever)) representation of the system, with Earth's system shown below for a quick (NTS) comparison:
system_map_exaggerated - with names.png

Distances : (measured from the system's host star - Barisel)
The distances of Marut and it's neighbours from their star, are shown here spliced in among the distances of Earth and its neighbours from its own star (as far as Jupiter after which the comparisons are pointless). Marut & Co are shown in blue.
Rich (BB code):
Body Distance from star
Mercury 57,910,000km
Bonril 94,167,200km to 156,337,700km
Venus 108,200,000km
Earth 149,600,000km
Marut 180,587,500km
Wanani 218,833,800km
Mars 227,940,000km
Eredir 293,894,100km
Asteroid Belt 329,000,000km to 478,700,000km
Sisdanweh 471,063,800km
Jupiter 778,300,000km

Dimensions : (based on estimated diameter, using averages to counter oblations from the sphere)
Again the dimensions of Earth & its neighbours are also included for purposes of easy comparison. Marut & Co are shown in blue.
Rich (BB code):
Body Radius
Sun 695,508km
Barisel 447,888km
Sisdanweh 75,516km
Jupiter 69,911km
Saturn 58,232km
Uranus 25,362km
Neptune 24,622km
Earth 6,371km
Venus 6,051km
Wanani 4,533km
Marut 3,581km
Mars 3,390km
Ganymede 2,634km
Titan 2,574km
Mercury 2,440km
Callisto 2,410km
Eredir* 2,278km
Io 1,821km
Moon 1,737km
Pluto 1,188km
Sedna 497km
Ceres 473km
Vesta 262km
* - Eredir is vastly unspherical, perhaps not even oblately spherical.
Three radii are estimated as 2766, 1953 & possibly again 1953. A nominal radius length of 2278 is to be treated as, indeed, nominal.

Imagery :
Direct imaging of the other planets in the system are in their early days. Only Wanani and Eredir have been imaged, to date.

Wanani : (terrestrial)

Eredir : (terrestrial, oblation up the ying-yang)

And here endeth the nerdgasm.

Always asking the big questions at the Roys !!! Are there other planets and universes out there ? Why does the Sim hate me, why would anyone like tennis, where are my keys.....

B: No one LIKES Tennis, unless it’s the table version

A little more:

It must be made clear that these are on continents other than where Sweet resides. Sweet's area is largely undeveloped (except for Sweet itself). I'll be trying to change that in the near future.

Utilising the Minecraft world, building over the last few months has spread widely from Sweet out into other regions of Hindealla and even reached a border with neighbouring country Ibarawa.

Here's generally where everything lies :
tentative borders a.png

The demarcation lines are fairly tentative and definitely crude.

On the left, "Japanese Temple", "Flower Farm" and 2 x "Town" are all in neighbour nation Ibarawa ( Hate that's your build btw )

Sweet is pretty obvious as is the Expansion National Park. Outback District is to the left of the ENP. Above that, the riding where Coralie sits is tentatively called "Kingdom".

Tittybong Riding includes TJASTA 's Flog Oval town and Geoff's General Store, along with a base operated by Hate in-game.

The region of Lirmi including the like-named town is south, where Pickitt is building a big arena.

West along the coast is Tindoo & Tanoca region. "Tanoca Valley" hamlet isn't gazetted yet but will be slightly north.

Centrally located is Rhilpisa (Renown Park), Shea & the as-yet unbuilt Maprako. Maprako is currently a 3x3 square of dirt in the middle of an ocean with a torch on it :D
