From the first 2 rounds of the season, which team do you believe has the most promising future for the next 5 or 6 years?

I like the Eagles, Cats, Blues and the Hawks in no particular order. Buddy Franklin is going to be a star for the Hawks and Nathan Ablett was very very impressive on Saturday night. Key big are gold!! Hopefully Kennedy can continue to improve and get to the level the other 2 are already at.

West Coast.

They look the most likely to have a premiership in their future.

September 2007 is still considered the future, yes?

Good question. I automatically assumed that by ‘future’ the poll was questioning the youth of each team (under 23 or there abouts). I wouldn’t consider this season as the future as the season is already underway.

2008 – 2010 will be a great period of time for Geelong in which they should be quite successful. Promising young guns Selwood, Hawkins, N. Ablett, Varcoe, Djerrkura, Prismall and Egan will have a few preseasons under their belt and be able to handle the toughest and most skillful teams in the comp.

These kids will complement a mature list of solid players (G. Ablett, Bartel, Corey, Scarlett, Ottens, Mooney, Wojcinski, Hunt etc) and will be very hard to beat.

But surely September 2007 couldn't be considered the past, or even the present... It's the future...

Without being a smart arse, but I'm pretty sure he didn't ask everyone to name the team that will win this year's flag.

I think Brisbane, Hawthorn, Geelong and the Doggies will be the most successful within the next 5 years.

So then the question isn't who will be good "within the next 5 years", it's who will be good about 3-4 years from now.
