Just heard on the radio that Stan Magro has won the lawsuit against the club. He says he was lured to the Dockers on a 3 year $100K contract and promised an interview for the top job if it became available. Apparently he was scheduled for an interview but was dumped.

Not good processes by the club in a period where they behaved in a very ordinary fashion.

I understood that he was suing Hatt, Macniel & Ross Mclean (the previous Admin), not the club.
Not quite RIP Kelly,Hatt and McNeill. He had already settled out of Court with the Club.
A great win for a great bloke against three dead set unprofessional duds who deserve to have their arses reamed good and proper.

Could not agree more, Buttsy deserves every penny he gets. Unfortunately these dudes won't have to pay a cent as they are covered by Directors and Management Insurance.

I understand that Hatt, Kelly and McNeill are covered by the club's insurance for such decisions. Interesting that the judge referred to Stan as a rising star in the coaching world and said his chances of becoming a senior coach were 50/50 at the time!
Sounds like the defendants didn't do a good job of rebutting Stan's mates (Sumich etc) who talked him up as the next big thing.

Fair enough for Stan The Man, the 3 Freo administrators were woeful. They seem to have done alot of underhanded things, reminds me of WA Inc.

The side issue to this, is how good a coach is Stan?. I know the cattle he has at Perth are of pretty ordinary DNA, but has his team improved under his guidance?. Has he enthused Woods and McDougall to hit the contest hard?. Unfortunately his team doesn't play anything like the way Stan played.

Maybe I am judging him harshly, but can he pick a team up by the "bootlaces" and propel them up the ladder?.

Talking to a friend of mine in the legal proffesion . She believes the FFC have a case against the WAFC for appointing these people - that unless something has been put in writing . Which may well be the case considering Magro has also gone after , McNiel Hatt & McClean personally

I think he did a very good job with East Perth before he took up the Assistant job at Collingwood.

he only got 43 thousand dollars

Combine that with what he was paid out of court by the Club and he's done OK. In the action against the three incompetent officials it was probably more a matter of principal and to that end they were shown to have acted dishonestly and unprofessionally.
