When are the AFL going to realise that these extra Mickey Mouse games are not going to attract the best efforts of those players participating. The AFLPA are forever trying to reduce the number of games players have to play in a year & the AFL tack these games on to the end of the season & expect the players will give 100%. The AFL are kidding themselves. It is for this very reason they should also forget any thoughts of bringing back State of Origin games. Waste of time.

As long as we stay away from Michael O'Loughlin - After getting thrashed said the lost because the team didnt put in enough effort and didnt follow his instructions.
Welcome to coaching Micky, you better have more than that to hang your hat on if you want another gig.

Mick gets a year for his players to buy into his game plan, yet O'Loughlin gets criticised for not being able to keep a random group in line? He said his instructions were pretty simple yet still weren't followed - that's a reflection on the players, not him.

Wouldn't be against adding someone that is willing to put the onus on the players to buy in, instead of allowing these so called professionals to end careers because apparently they need convincing to follow instructions...

I don't know how the timeframe would sit with the Irish, but maybe the AFL should just scrap NAB cup altogether, have the International series every few years, and State of Origin every other year instead. Those players not involved in these games can play intra or inter club practise matches.

I thought when he was interviewed on tv i heard him say he wants to head into coaching and also stay in brissie to help out the boys?

If that is to be, I'm happy it's a somewhat more senior individual than someone just out of the game.

Always feel our group needs the older and tougher heads guiding them, than one of the boys.

Waiting for the official advice but I'd be rapt with Laidley.

According to McKay last week we were looking for a Gavin Brown replacement and looking to bolster our development coaches. So Laidley is probably the Brown replacement. Should still have another development coach to come.
