The coalition will never win the federal government again.

Yeah don’t forget this.

Once upon a time the Republicans were the party of liberalist northerners, the hyper religious types were southern democrats.

Then the religious takeover of the GOP occurred. Now they are for all intents and purposes a religious party, and the former north Liberals are now democrats.

Although the numbers are higher it’s still only a minority of Americans who attend church services. But that hasn’t stopped them from becoming a theocracy.

The Australian Liberals were once “liberal”. But the takeover of the Liberals by the religious right is well underway. Look at WA and how “the Clan” led by theocratic wannabe Nick Goiran has embedded itself as the state’s leadership. As electoral politics tells us the electorate will slowly swing back to the Liberals, one now run by a theocrat.

The takeover of the federal LNP by the religious right will now be easier as the last moderates have been expunged.
Something we all need to take very seriously.

And as always, they will cloak their disgusting bigotries and underhanded tactics as the right to freely practise their religion.

In today’s edition of “what wacky extreme right wing sh*t excuses will the Liberals use to blame anyone but themselves for their loss?”:

Oh and basically calling her own kids f**king brain dead idiots to score points at her little far right gathering.

Somebody should explain genetics to her.

Wow. We don't have a problem. You are the problem!

How young are her kids? Why hasn't she taught them the facts of life? What happened to parental responsibility?

She sounds like your average suburban idiot complaining about the teachers and the social marxisms.

Why did they lose? Their candidates were so low-quality.

Liked the bloke in the background "don't denigrate all the kids!"

Got told to be quiet while this bird was regurgitating Andrew Bolt's latest article.

Do private schools have Marxist teachers? Gough just answered that.

There’s plenty of more well off people in aus who may not be socialist, but think a rich country like australia should not have poverty

They thought the statistics from this ssm exercise was a way through. Find alp strongholds where the voters were very conservative on ssm and play culture wars
Did an liberal suggest that might mean losing Kooyong? After all it had one of the highest yes votes even back in the republic vote 22 years ago?

They have both kinds. Socialist and Marxist.

But joking aside. I dont remember any staunchly conservative teachers from my private schooling in the 80's

I still maintain the main reason they lost was because people were sick of the constant, pathological lying.

The press, even the leftish press, seems strangely reluctant to call a spade a spade in this respect, apart from coded references to "integrity".

Stats suggest there's a lean towards conservative views with age.

Thats not nessesarily the conclusion you can get from this graph. Sine of it could be genuine cultural and generational change. Society as a whole was a lot more conservative in the 60s, so it makes sense that those who grew up in that era are more conservative. So you can't imply a trend.

However anectotally, I do think that there is a general trend towards the right with age. But I think that it'sll be much weaker as the newer generations age. Boomers turned more conservative once they started racking up the wealth; but they got too greedy. Younger generations are much poorer and have much fewer opportunities than they did, so there's relatively less for them to try and conserve.

Better hope so cos otherwise the future is a choice between labor and the greens, with the religious lobbyists trying to infiltrate labor
I don’t think the religious lobbyists can infiltrate Labor.

Labor’s greatest “weakness” - 50% unions - is Labor’s greatest strength in protecting itself from being taken over by minority groups.

People have been syaing this for years....and yet once they have finished uni and have a mortgage, kids and a business to run....the net drift is conservative. Always has....always will be.

The issue for the LNP is that the youth in the past drifted from Labor to the liberals.

Now they are starting as greens so they will be drifting to Labor.

They have in the past as anyone who understands ALP history and the split with the DLP knows.

And the god bothering leadership of the shoppies union was they key reason same sex marriage did not happen under a a Gillard Federal Government.

I would argue people do not become more conservative.

I would suggest people become more easily susceptible to various bribes and cash incentives.

So as people get older and have more financial commitments they are easily swayed by the argument that taking money off the poor and giving you a tax cut is good - and they vote with that self interest in mind, and people even older again who maybe don’t have any financial commitment at all are easily swayed by the argument that they have worked their whole life and why should they or anyone support a bunch of bums and again are easily swayed to vote in line with self interest.

Young people don’t give a s**t about these things - they have no money.

The Liberals immigration policy and tax policies and middle class welfare policies, etc. are all about protecting the “quiet Australians” from “others”.

2019 data would (if I could be bothered to check) would be an anomaly. Rather than a cultural shift to the Right because of age, but an exaggerated response to a specific policy (Franking Credits) it targeted.

For the record I don’t consider the Catholics or protestants as the Christian Right. Sure there are very conservative people amongst them but they are not teaching the prosperity gospel in any Catholic Church I know.

Yep I was at school mid sixties to seventies and we had progressive teachers, but some older ones would have had first hand experience if the war years

By progressive I don’t mean change the world but more ‘opportunity for all’ but isn’t that what school should be about anyway?

Worst teachers I came across were relief teachers in the public school system when I was there. There was one who actually managed to get sacked from the education department in the 80s, no mean feat in itself and later turned up as spokeswoman for the local tom's association.
