The Cold

First five days of april were pretty cool.
The nights were especially a nice change of pace from March which was the 3rd hottest ever for Tasmania.

Looking ahead some above average and mild conditions leading up to the weekend.
Should be back to more around average next week for this time of year.

Seasonal outlook does predict above average temps for my neck of the woods for April - June however.
Hoping for a proper autumn/winter like 2015 was :)

Chilly one yesterday in Victoria and Tassie.
Plenty of wind and rain.
Snow up on higher elevations.
This is Falls Creek in Victoria.

Currently a max of 16c here today and very overcast.
The weekend after easter could be the next significant cold change.

It's been a pretty unremarkable lately in terms of weather.
Just been lots of sunny, warm 20 odd degree days and milder nights.
Currently running +2.6 above average for max temps and 0.6+ for min temps.
I remember someone saying they wouldn't be surprised if in the future there are crocodiles in the derwent lol

Looks like a decent cool change next week and Wednesday's max of 12 should be interesting.
I have to start work at 6am that day as well!

Looks like your past couple of days are pretty much the same as our current spring. That's golfing weather! haha. Although our humidity is over 90% so feels warmer.

Everything is not so bad as in USA. My sister called me yesterday. She lives in Colorado mountains. She told me that Colorado is likely to see its strongest snow storm so far this winter from Sunday night through Monday morning. The mountains could see 1 to 3 feet of snow, while Denver could get anywhere between 2 and 3 inches of snow. And this is in April! She even had to tune up the heating - http://www.summitheatingco.com/denver-heating-tune-up/ she read there that it's better to have 68 to 72 degrees is a temperature range that is not too warm or cool, and is sufficient enough to warm up the home. But due to weather had less than 60 degrees :(

Yeah we had some milder days/nights recently.
Now it feels like winter is starting to come.

Last few days

Outlook

upload_2017-4-27_17-58-1.png

Yesterday and last night was probably the coldest in some time around Australia.
A town in the Tasmanian midlands fell to -3.8 last night.

http://www.weatherzone.com.au/news/wintry-chill-grips-six-states-and-territories/526332

I did some stats for here and in May in the last 16 years there have been no more than 5 days above 20 degrees celcius.
On 6 of those years there has been none over 20c.

Hopefully weather is okay for the North vs. Adelaide match!

Stocking up on firewood here still.
Two more loads this week will give me two tonne so far.
Reckon i could get away with maybe four tonne but will get 5 just in case.

Got off my ass and finished insulating the roof a fortnight ago.....did half 4 years ago when building and just got lazy and left the rest
Massive massive diff.....wouldve been burning wood already if i hadn't of finished it.
20 degrees in the house this morn.

We tried it out the other week and cranked the fire for one night.....it got to 27 inside

Sounds like it will be nice an toasty inside for you.
Nothing like a good wood fire either.

I need to get our heat pump fixed was leaking water last we turned it on in the summer for AC
Max of 13c here tomorrow.
Rest of the week looking on average or abit above average.

Maxed out at only 11.4 degrees yesterday.
In the afternoon the wind chill was making it feel like nearly zero.

So plenty of cold winds and even snow around the state.

This was up at Cradle Mountain yesterday.
