Things I love about winter:

- hangovers are much easier to deal with in the cold

I'm a winter guy. I get around like a grump in summer like most people I know do in winter.

I had never thought about this but this is a solid point. Although, if you live near a beach a swim is a good remedy too.

Loved yesterday. Walked back from the gym at lunch and had already cooled down by the time I got back to the office. Put in my footy tips at the pub on the way home, and walked into a beef casserole and mashed potato dinner which was paired with a Coonawarra cabernet. Slept like a log, under a doona.

Weather here sucks at the moment. Low 30s, humid and still. Smoke from all the fires has settled over the city so air quality is terrible.

Got to admit, the cold beer I'm drinking is going down well!

Nearly 5000 square km of the Province has burned since spring. Worst since 1958 and summer is only half way done. Normally everyone complains of rain here but wouldn't mind some right now.

Even Melbournes winter has been pretty dry this year, we could do with some decent rain.
