Collingwood had the chance to join two mortal enemies on 16 Premierships. They wobbled. With Carlton's impressive season and Essendon's trajectory, they may have missed a golden opportunity to equal the most flags title again, let alone outright

Interestingly, in the H&A season, their percentage against every team other than Geelong was a whopping 185.96%. Against Geelong it was only 53.74%.

Geelong's percentage against the rest of the competition was 155.19%, and 186.09% against the Pies.

Perfect day of Football ...the pies got a handy lead ..the fan boys started the mindless collingwood chant ..the umpires were gifting pies goals through crap decisions ....and then the wheels fell of ..the wobbles flared up in the last quarter and the Cats ground them into the MCG.

Awesome stuff.....26 grand final losses (5 to Carlton ) and only 2 flags in 50 years seems to indicate the wobbles are well and truly alive and well .

Round 24 told a story of what was to follow.

Actually, the first quarter in Round 8 told the story, but we frittered our chances away to such an extent that Pies fans continue to believe the non-goal to Pendlebury was what cost them in that match, when in actual fact they should've been 10 goals down at the time such was our dominance in general play.

We played exactly the same way in Round 24, but Pies fans believed the game was a dead rubber and nothing could be read into the result.

Just goes to show those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it.

Too many soft players rely on them e.g. Wollingham, Thomas, Blair, etc. and then players like Shaw and Obrien are only big run and kick players who just continue to turn it over. How Obrien gets a game is staggering - looks good on the burst but jut butchers the ball all the time - - opposition backs just line up everytime when he kicks it.

Cut them some slack. They extended a league record today. 26th Grand Final loss.

No team has lost more GF's than them. They should be applauded.

Geelong are simply a better team and are deserved premiers.

I was shouting for them all game, and couldn't quite believe how much I wanted my arch nemesis to win.

They are a fantastic team full of champion players, who all have enormous hearts and showed Collingwood up for what they are.

Hawthorn should have beem playing them anyway, but injuries and too many kids coming in made us slightly lower than Geelong. Still would have been a cracking game though.

So well done Geelong. You are now officially one of the greatest teams of all time. And to Collingwood you are exactly where you belong, albeit a week late.
