Now if Shiel couldn't come back on because of concussion then there is only 1 option and that is that he should be suspended.

I'd like to see the vision of Rocca's again but cant find it. Anyone know a link. My memory is that he was shepherding, swung his arm back forcefully and made high contact on a much shorter player.

All l could find was a picture, he elbowed Brendon Lade. At the time of the incident l thought he was gone.

Cotchin will get off. Had eyes for the ball, was down very low and just braced for the contact. Shiel failed to protect himself at all. No way should this be seen as anything other than an accident and it was not careless.

All true, but he still hit the head and Shiel got concussion, and that will be the problem. The afl has set the precedent that the head is a no go zone

Ben Lennon. He's a 55-60m kick too, so it was his range. And normally accurate too.

Regardless, a great finish to a great grand final. And massive respect for Port Melbourne. From staring down the barrel of bankruptcy in the summer (the players all played for free to raise money in Round 1) to holding up the cup in the spring. A win for the underdog against the big boys...

It's absolutely the correct decision. Where they stuffed up is in previous decisions not this one.

Where Grundy lucked out was we couldn't get vision of a later incident where Brown was touched by another player.
The whole system needs to be thrown out.
Whatever happened to etting football people assess tehse things on a case by case basis?

No doubt. The AFL and media would have delighted in a Pies player being suspended. AFL is corrupt

Also why are people up in arms about Cotchin missing a GF. No one gave a s**t when we had Cloke and Rocca miss out of GF's.

Yes he was hurt. I get that. So was Sloane...but he got up even though it nearly killed him to do so.

Danger just lay there and lay there and lay there.

Then he sprung up like the prancing pony he is with no obvious side effects.

If this was a Collingwood player in a final what would your reaction be?

Either he was concussed - in which case he should have played no further part in the game and Geelong should be fined for allowing him to continue or...... He's a show pony who plays for free kicks, likes the camera to be on him and puts his own image/persona above the team.

He dragged Geelong into the finals with brilliant individual efforts. He doesn't trust his teammates and he attempts to do too much with the ball. I can't see Geelong winning a flag while he plays for them.

He did Adelaide a favour leaving.

Individually (without Cotchin's previous two fines) it's the right result that both he and Ellis are playing in the grand final. Considering other sanctions this season however it's the wrong result that neither Cotchin or Ellis copped a fine. The three strikes rule needs to be reviewed now given that the AFL isn't willing to follow through on the eve of a grand final.
