I would have retired him after the SCG test . He will play as long as they pick him imo .
Khawaja I think will retire end of next Aussie Summer .

I would have Renshaw as the number 1 , really rate Hunt but is out of form .
Pucovski is the x factor IF he can return which I doubt .
Renshaw/Puc would be my combo moving forward

Usman would likely end his career with 5000+ test runs which is pretty impressive.

Very much so . Always had the talent , just took until his 30s to sort everything out
Was a poor trainer in comparison to most before that

I honestly cannot fathom the team selection. They drop one of the more consistent batsmen in Head and play Renshaw and Hanscomb both of whom have really flawed techniques and are very average players. So we have six batsmen and struggling to score 200, suggesting there is a bit for the bowlers. But guess what, we only selected 4 bowlers. Marnus will likely have to bowl a few, as will Smith. Really hope Murphy has a good game. The Indians have really got into their heads.
 
I would have played Head over Renshaw, especially with both being left handers. Heads summer means he at least deserved a crack at amending his horrible record outside of Australia.

Handscomb deserved a middle order spot with Green out. Plays spin well and is leading run scorer in the shield.

Hopefully he can get us to 220

They absolutely over thought selection . I got told a few days ago Renshaw was in and it was a toss between Head/ Handscomb.

I think we need to stick with Renshaw but he needs to open . Head very stiff to lose a spot on form 12 months ago .

Warner should be out , Renshaw opening , Head stayed in .
We are wasting tests on Warner now.

Youngest Australian spinner to take a 5 fa .
Indians have now had a look at him so it probably gets a bit harder again now but we have a decent talent here .

he will probably get to play more tests this series alongside Lyon. he has to prove himself over that sustained period of time and on Aus soil to replace Garry i would imagine. i think he looks great but it would be a mistake to overreact to one good innings.

Lyon hasnt been bad . India really doesnt suit him .
Going forward they both bowl differently so you can play them together on the sub continent .

I think Lyon goes until after next Summer so expect both to be squad selections until then

Yeah, was not fun viewing. Overall a pretty spineless performance from anyone not named Murphy or Smith

India came back from worse last series but gotta admit it looks pretty grim already
 
The concerns before the test over the pitch preparation have been proven to be well-founded. Classy Indian spinners wiped us out, and we had a debutant grab a 7-for. Unlikely we will get a favourable pitch during this series. But it has always been that way in India. Always tough on the quicks.

What are the odds on an Indian whitewash?
