So what's a par score?
350-400?

Just caught an hour or so at the Apollo Bay pub. You'd want 400+ on this wicket, I reckon.

Henriques is playing with very soft hands. Good technique about him.

What would Clarke's average be against India of late??

Silly Henriques. You've batted so well and then you play across the line. Reckon he was hit outside the line, though a fair decision.

Yep, another donated wicket just when we are close to the end of the day. Agree also - hit outside off and probably should be not out, despite the awful shot.

....and as usual starts a string of wickets.

Looks like it has a few tricks in it, but runs were easy to come by for a while there when India's bowlers lost a bit of control. If our bowlers do the same 350 will be well under. Need to soak up a few overs with bat and ball to force India into a chase late day 4 and into day 5 and hope the deck becomes unplayable.

How long you down the coast for?

I didn't get to see much of Moises tonight. Shame. Looks like a great knock in the context of the rest of the innings.
Played a really smart and controlled innings. Didn't see his dismissal, but sounds like he played across one which was out of character with the rest of the innings where he played straight to anything pitched up on the stumps.

10 days. Most lovely.

Yeah, I think we need to bat as long as possible. As much to get as many runs on the board as we can, but also to force them to bat deep into the last days. Still think anything short of 400 will bè under.

Henriques' bowling might be very useful too. I wonder how our attack will go on this deck...

That was the most annoying thing about his dismissal. Built his innings around good use of the crease and playing straight, then plays a slog sweep across the line. Shame, as he was looking really solid. Still, a great knock and hopefully just what he needs to dominate with the ball as well

The talk in the lead up games was his bowling. Apparently used the conditions really well. Hopefully you're right about the added confidence his inning could bring to his bowling.

Still think we will rue playing the extra quick rather than the Doh.

I don't quite understand this business of coming out 3 days before the test and naming the side. Just leads itself to pitch doctoring.

I am enjoying reading the comments section on Cricinfo about the Clarke non-decision. Oh what joy...

Fair to say HJ, that wicket wasn;t going to get any more doctored than what it was. I think it's a fair comment to suggest had we named Doherty and Maxwell that they wouldnt have produced a raging seamer.

We are going to be relying on reverse swing and variable bounce, which they'll get cause this wicket break up big time

It's a dustbowl on the morning of day 2 - rolled mud. The thinking has to be the pacemen will get it to reverse early. Watching Sharma bowling with a 25 over old ball I don't see a lot of that, even allowing for Sharma being a touch short.

4 sessions of batting. Who would have thought?
Pattinson at 10 is a bit odd. Sids was fantastic, but I think we could have got more runs out of the partnership with Clarke if Pattinson was batting 8 or 9
