Thinking back on your comment re Watson's dismissal and the way they played today just showed you exactly the difference in batsmanship. They made sure they were in, played cautiously, then lit rip. Watson had a few sighters and started to shoot from the hip early. "He thought he was dominating."
Most of our bats faced between 13 and 31 balls and most of them got out to poor shots. Conventional wisdom is that the most difficult time on a turning wicket is those first couple of overs. Unforgivable that so many made it through the most dangerous period and didn't work hard enough to capitalise.

If India declared before the commencement of day three, you reckon they could push for an innings win?

They're an outside chance to win this within 3 days if they bat on for a session and declare at lunch.

Anyone we believe will be in the Ashes tour should be sent over to England now. This series is done... no use driving them into the ground. The Poms will be sitting back with their feet up.

Send over the kids to India getting them ready for the next Indian tour in 3-4 years time. Give them exposure to the conditions so a fcukup like this never happens again.

Oh, greed. I meant more do you reckon they could have declared and bowled us out for 70 odd... that would have been humiliating. Not sure if it would have been any worse than what we're seeing right now though.

No... as bad as we are, we've still got 150-250 in us. The wicket isn't treacherous and they've just had a couple of guys make 200 and 150.... granted we have a couple of pie chuckers in the team, but we're still not going to get rolled for under 100 on day 3.

We'll soon see...

No argument from me there AH. The best of them have great control combined with variations of flight, angles and spin. They don't tick any of those boxes

Ian Chappell on radio this afternoon said Doherty had been tried previously and although he was a handy one day bowler he simply isn't a Test bowler. He said most people understand this, but apparently not the selectors.

He went on to say cricket was a mess as nobody has tried to bring the three forms of the game to work together, and even if things changed tomorrow it would take years for the game to recover.

Best part is... this bowling effort by Maxwell will ensure he plays in the next test! :D
Five for on debut... Oh the messiah.

You mean continue to do

Well, I reckon it's spinning quite a bit. If Doherty can extract that amount of turn, well, I reckon the Indians could make the ball turn square.

They might just run through us like a dodgy korma.

Most of those wickets were donations but there is still a very real possibility India won't have to bat again.

Prove me wrong top order. Prove me wrong.
