Too much going on and not being questioned.
You make this out to be 4 naughty schoolboys who havent done their homework. That is such a massive oversimplification, that I think the word 'naive' (which was mentioned a few posts back), is precisely the word to describe the situation.
If only it was 4 very naughty boys .....
You realy think the K coulda been playing this game, or has Clarke stamped his papers anyhow? Think Patto isnt sick of this resting bullshit? Wade, WADE, he actually goes to the trouble of shooting himself in the foot to avoid the whole charade and any further role in the matter. Mitch, he's been round long enough to know how the game works. He's also another former teammate of the boy wonder.
Watto, jeez, I remember when a nonce of a player by the name of Michael Clarke ponced about and let his side down when it mattered - regularly. Scored big when it didnt matter. I'd say he almost white anted Ponting position over time, but hasnt he risen Lazarus style and redeemed himself.
Watto is probably every bit as sick of CA as us and any other cricket watcher. He would know as well as anyone he should been dropped, but he's been kept in the side to maintain the facade of the happy family, to prop up and maintain the pecking order round Clarke.
I see 4 guys making a stand, not an open act of rebellion, but a sma, all act of defiance to the exalted few, and their sycophants. The whole sorry mess needs to be brought to a head, and I hope this is the catalyst for it.
From all reports today, it was more than just 4 guys not doing their homework. It's been numerous occassions of numerous players skipping physio sessions, wearing the wrong uniform, not completing other reports when they are supposed too amongst other things. This just seems to be the straw that broke the camels back. They got whacked cause they cocked up at the wrong time.
In regards to Khawaja, I do think he would have played in the upcoming test. I think he is becoming just a waste of talent at the moment. He's been told to work on things and hasn't and then when he is close to playing, he fails to do a simple task asked of him. DO I think he's been treated fairly?? Not at times, but if he was smart, and he toed the line and actually got into the side, he could have shown what he could do, instead he stuffs it all up for himself
Patto has apologised, Wade did an ankle playing basketball, and Midge, well who the heck knows what goes through his head.
Watto, well probably the epitomy of Australia cricket at the moment. Talented but failing to live up to the hype, seems think he is owed a spot in the side instead of simply hoping to get a game, and mentally fragile. This is the same guy that tried to white ant a teammate by publicly saying he wants his spot in the side at the top of the order instead of trying to support him. This from the Vice Captain!!! How is that leadership??
I don;t think it was an act of defiance, just another example of the lack of professionalism and lack of care. I do agree with your last line, I really hope this does bring everything to a head, cause this is just one of a lot of issues in Australian cricket
