Strong chance chance 3 of them are going to be leading our Ashes attack. Starc, Siddle and Lyon are going to be probables more than possibles in the first test in England.

Patto missing has certainly taking away our absolute quality. Ideally, I'd like him and Bird in for the Ashes.

Yes. And with no disrespect to Steve Smith, who did play well - and, it must said as AH has been saying all along he's a good player of spin - but if he looks a cut above and he's our number 5 we have huge problems.

Totally agree. I was a little surprised with Smith, but AH had him nailed. Although as you said, Stark cruising to 99 put it all into context.
Surly this Siddle at 8 thing has to end now. He's a capable night watchman and nothing more.

Maybe, but lets let him have a season of Shield cricket under his belt first to see ifhis body can stand the rigours of 4 day cricket, let alone 5 days. I agree, he seems a gun in waiting, but just can;t stay fit. Needs a full season for NSW (but banned from T20) first for mine.

Honestly, I think the Tasmanian Shield side has a stronger batting line up.
