Horrible, horrible shot by Warner. Reckon a spinner will be on before too much longer and that will be 2 for frack all.

I am glad Hughes has started positive in this innings. Needed to try something different instead of getting bogged down against the bowling

Agreed. I really rate him as a batsman. And I find it hard to believe that he could be so bad at playing spin that he was effectively paralysed.
 
Was cowan unlucky?

During that fateful tour where Dravid and Laxman murdered us, Ponting had a horrible series, only scoring about 20 runs, and Gilchrist scored about 2 runs in his last 4 or 5 innings. It happens over there and it's a learning curve for Hughes. He has something that many of our top order don;t, the ability to make hundreds and regularly.

Cowan won't be dropped, so you'd think that unless he bowls, he could struggle to get back in. In saying that, he is the VC so by rights should be able to walk back in.

Qld just qualified for shield final vs tas. On track to complete treble. Yet no exposure for test team. I recommend they start wearing light blue caps. Gotta live in the harbour city if you want to make it these days!!

The are a very even team without any stars. Burns and cutting are the only ones you would really look at and even then there are probably better options.

I'm hoping Jo Burns is given a shot before too much longer, Perhaps, though, he needs to develop some very mediocre spin/medium bowling and drop his batting average down a bit, then he'll be considered as an all-rounder.
 
Burns is, for mine, the next test cap as a top order batsman. Great technique, young and has shown the ability to make big scores.

Him, Michael Hill and probably Nic Maddinson, are the guys we should be looking at to take us to the next level

Amazing QLD make the final after losing more games than they won.
