Is that what he is the team for??:)

What did Finch do? What did Clarke do? Everyone can have a bad day.

BTW.. Watson averages 41 with the bat and 30 with the ball whilst Kallis avgs 44 with bat and 31 with the ball.

Wade loses concentration for mine. it's not just his technique. Some of his misses are big misses.

Seeing some of the other keepers around the shop in the BB, and I know that's not a great measure, there are quite a few I'd have before him in Australian test colours again.

Wade's just not good enough to keep at Test level. He'd need to be able to bat like Brian Lara to warrant selection.

Agreed.

Stories going around that a view was held by senior cricket people that Wade's glovework was so bad keeping to Lyon that Lyon was losing all confidence.

Paine looked good behind the stumps the other day...might have his mojo back after that bad finger injury...

For those who sit through the Big Bash games, how is Ryan Carters coming along? Any long term potential? Any others that may be a longer term replacement for Haddin?
Carter's has not gone well in the big bash. At first class level most games he played as a pure batsman as nsw already have Neville.

Watson has been a star player in our one day team for year. Can't doubt his value in that formt. His test form has been pretty good in the past 12 months although his best performances have been once the series were over. No doubt his best is good enough in all forms. The selectors clearly want him so let's hope he keeps delivering. Need to buy some time until Moises develops his game up to test standard or Lyon can learn to bowl 40 overs per innings.

Gee, lot to like about Chris Lynn.

So I suppose Triffit wontnbe a backup keeper in the australian team despite his quick hands...

He steals quick singles too...

With the exception of Wade, I can't remember seeing such a sure and slick Australian fielding side.

They look so good when they're catching. So safe.

The way they throw and position themselves, and back each other up in the field is so good.

On Wade, I can't see him staying in the side for much longer the way he's keeping.

He does turn the ball. Exciting.

Bailey on a smash-fest.

Wade just dropped a relatively simple catch down the leg side.

I'll happily drive the entire England squad to the airport.

I'd like them to just keep playing here. Love seeing them being ground into the dust.

Muirhead... Want to see how he bowls when he has to bowl 15-20 overs in an innings, but is the best spin prospect I've seen in Australian ranks since Stu and Shane. The rest are pale in comparison.

Since 2004 we've exposed 11 spin bowlers
Nathan Hauritz (17 Tests, 63 wickets @ 34.98)
Dan Cullen (1 test, 1 wicket @ 54)
Beau Casson (1 Test, 3 wickets @ 43)
Jason Krejza ( 2 Tests, 13 wickets @ 42.23)
Bryce McGain ( 1 Test, 0 wickets)
Steven Smith (17 Tests, 9 wickets @ 49.66) Batting All-rounder played originally as a spinner
Xavier Doherty (4 Tests, 7 Wickets @ 78.29)
Michael Beer (2 Tests, 3 Wickets @ 59.33) *And was once smacked out of the park by djboonie in the VTCA
Nathan Lyon (30 Tests, 104 Wickets @ 32.52)
Glenn Maxwell (2 Tests, 7 Wickets @ 27.57) All-Rounder played as spinner
Ashton Agar (2 Tests, 2 Wickets @ 124)

My God, Big Show got seven wickets…...

Branding himself the Big Show was an unintentional moment of brilliance. Problem is we're all waiting for it to really come off on a regular basis.

I think in a year or two he will learn how to pace himself better and pick his moments...then look out! I think he is worth persisting with. His results are reasonable without being outstanding.
