What on earth did they do (or not do) to that beautiful WACA pitch? You remember the one that had the ball whistling past the batman's ear, don't you? Was this developed to make the new stadium with a drop-in pitch seem attractive, or was it purely the weather leading up to Test that caused a dodo of a dead wicket?

Starc really has gone past Johnson now. Worrying that Johnson has lacked venom on his most favorite surface. There is really only Siddle to come in given Pattinson has played one or two FC matchs coming back from injury and Cummins a long way off still.
Johnson has retired effective after this test match. Not really a surprise as he has certainly lacked that bit of zip.

Need Cummins and Patto fit ASAP as Siddle just doesnt offer enough especially if coupled with Hazelwood

Siddle bowls with a bit more heart than Hazelwood but agree they aren't a good pairing. Hazelwood has been too easy to pick off. Barely bowled a maiden in the first innings.

This bloke is probably the best of the rest who are not injured. Left armer and pretty quick. Don't know what all the right arm bolwers are doing!

And Shaun Marsh has been recalled..........................for the love of all that is good, why???

Apparently.....
Australia coach Darren Lehmann said Marsh's ability to thrive in some of his Test innings was key to him being chosen ahead of untried batsmen Cameron Bancroft and Michael Klinger to fill the vacancy created by the injury to Usman Khawaja.

Prepared under instructions from CA to ensure we get five days play to keep channel 9 and the advertisers happy? I agree, it was a crying shame it wasn't a traditional WACA pitch.

I have a theory about these unresponsive wickets being prepared in Australia, and hope the theory is incorrect. I can't help thinking CA Administrators are living in fear of litigation should the Phillip Hughes situation repeat itself and are instructing curators to take all the early juice out of the wickets. Could be wrong, hope I am.

Many other Hawks supporters out there play cricket?
Just started playing again this season in the vets comp after a 15 year absence. Enjoying it immensely.
