How can it be a choke if we lose in the Finals, but are only in the Finals due to our soft draw.

Surely losing our Finals would be par for the ascertain we should not be in the Finals to begin with because of our draw?

If that makes you feel better.

Soft draw AND choking. Bay rules. Deal with it.

Just like Poort in 2001, thankfully we are yet to ever go out in straight sets :thumbsu:

Unfortunately, or fortunately for your guys, your company didnt get the chance to choke, only twice in your corporations history (since the new system) you have finished top 4 :D and you managed to choke it out twice. That Scott Thompson kick was a pearler..i can watch it 100 times and still wont get sick of it.Who you reckon will be your Scott Thompson this year? my money is on Dangerfraud :D
yet...just ****in win the last couple of games and watch it unfold in front of your eyes...:)

I bet Tealsters wish they could get the chance to choke in a Final.

Surely next year Finals are on the cards with a new coach and all?
we will win a flag before you do ;) ofcourse the last time you won a flag DVDs werent invented and you had to record the stuff in your VCR ..LMAO

wait a minute precious. I remember 2001-2003. in 2001 you gave us hell as well. (even relapse now in this thread)..now when its time to cop it...you running scared? Come on Geoffa, you are better than your company friends, you still a little "Port" left in you :)

You will win a flag before we do ? Based on what ? LOL, we've been hearing the same rubbish since 1997 from Poort supporters. Maybe 10 years ago you might have found a few dimwitted people out there that might have been fooled by the false bravado, now it's just laughable. I'm not sure if you missed the memo or not, but Poort supporters have learnt their place since 119. The old days where they would all sprout off the false bravado by prediciting hypothetical premierships are long gone.

Your corporation is failure, you have no supporters, no money and are living off millions of dollars in AFL handouts yet we are supposed to believe the false bravado that Poort will somehow win a premiership before we do ?

Poort won their obligatory flag won via their entry recruiting concessions in 2004, they failed to win 2 from them as Adelaide and West Coast did, but nonetheless you did better than Freo from them. Enjoy it, it's going to be the only one for a long while.

LOL the same handouts you received as well? ROFL. Ok.

My argument is based on the simple fact that crows will always be a token finals team. You havent done anything since the shit finals system in 97 and 98 which got you the flag, under the present system you would have been out :) still credit to you...but too bad you didnt really deserve it. Your team is a joke finals team, so much of a joke that soon it will appear on the Comedy channel soon enough..the SpringChoke mk2 after 05 and 06 is about to begin.. Previewed at the Gabba last week :D

Ok so we have no money, still we have won a flag in this century, you have millions of dollars and millions of members, what is your excuse???? ay??? :) lets hear it.

Btw, about who got better concessions, had to dig up this thread old thread, even a crowbot agreed you got better concessions, so are you saying your flag is tainted as well? LMAO

Oh really ? As far as I know Poort are being given 4 million a year while Adelaide are receiving an improved stadium deal that's approximately 1 million better than what we were previously on.

We had a chance in 2005/20006 and it didnt happen, now we're rebuilding again and close to having another premership window open. This whole thing over postulating your one solitary premiership as superior just because you won it 6 years after our second flag is laughable and is atypitcal of a loser menalty. No wonder you're club has turned to shit when you're all still slapping youselves on the back for a flag you won 8 years ago.

we should have won a lot more, we underperformed. But atleast we had a fair dinkum shot at it during the 119 debacle..but still we made the GFs, got ourselves the silver and a shot at the flag, you havent been anywhere near it in the last 14 years...read it again...ANYWHERE NEAR IT...with all your dollars and supporters and stadiums and bandwagon. I ask you again, whats your excuse??

But I have been through all the numbers before and Poort had more players in their premiership side from their original squad (or players acquired via trading an original listed player) than what we did.

It's not that the premierships are tainted as such, but the 92,94, 97, 98 and 2004 flags were all won with sides that were heavily comprised of players gained through entry conditions.

This is why West Coast's 2006 was significant as it was the first time any of the expansion team had won a flag without recruiting concessions.

Company had 10 uncontracted concession pics - but they had to have played SANFL ?
Ports concession was 4 uncontracted players plus 5 priority draft picks and 1 priority pre season pick. Those picks went on:
Uncontracted - Primus, Wanganeen, Heuskus and Downsborough
Draft - Rombotis, Lockwood and Harwood and on traded for Cummings and Breur. Pre season - Paxman
Apparently Lade, James and Wilson did not nominate for the 1995 draft so Port could draft them in 1996 - extremely astute as it turned out
To quote the old thread again:
"
Company\SANFL had the Player retention scheme, which rewarded players financially at the end of their career's providing they did not join the VFL\AFL. Once the Crows were rushed into formation, this scheme went out the window and the majority of those on it joined the Crows and collected their payments. Players included A Jarman, McDermott, Hodges and a host of others.
Crows had a 2 year moratorium on the SANFL after their formation year, meaning no player could be drafted by anyone other than the crows.
From memory, i think they had access to 6 uncontracted ex SA players, which they used on McGuiness, Hughes, Linder, Mickan. "

Poort got one of the easiest finals runs known to man in 2007. You came up against a West Coast side with no Kerr, Judd was playing off one leg in a forward pocket and they still had Poort beaten until Cousins did his hamstring. North were another side that were a pretender. You've made the grand final by default and if the Crows had of had a run half as easy as that we would have made the grand final as well. 119 was the exposure of a side that wasnt good enough to be there.

LOL yeah heard all these before, we still made the GFs, you didnt make it through, after being 2 points up with 30 seconds to go and having possession of the ball LMAO

Poort Power also had priority access to about 10-15 players in the SANFL. The Crows did not have access to the AFL draft during the monotorium process, no-one had ideal recruiting concessions.

At the end of the day who cares ?

Obviously Poort Powers were good enough to give them the basis of a squad that would eventually go on and win a premiership.

hey relapse, do you think your finals campaign will be another trainwreck, "right in front of me" :D

We're still a couple of years away from being a realistic shot at a flag and I have no expectations of a grand final this year. You Poort Power supporters have banged on all year about our lucky draw and that we'll be exposed in September there's maybe a hint in truth in that and that if we finish 2nd then it will flatter where we are at as a squad. Once we can get some experience into our defence and get some games into Brad Crouch though we'll be getting very close :thumbsu:

did you even read my post? in the 1990 the draft system was different, but you still had a wider range of uncontracted players to choose from than we did.

Good to see you admit your flag was a result of the concession too.At the end of the day, we still made a GF without the help of a concession while the company.............its a different story :)

but look how your coach is talking your team up, from your midfield being "unstoppable" to your team being a genuine contender. You dont expect people to laugh at that when you fail the finals campaign? supporters can downplay their chances, ask your moronic coach to STFU first orelse you will cop it with him as well :D

P.S who the heck is brad crouch??

Relapse, when your coach talks about stuff like this, it does not even remotely matter what you think or other supporters think. He is the voice of YOUR COMPANY remember?

BRENTON Sanderson says Adelaide is good enough to win this year's flag.
Dismissing claims from former Collingwood coach Mick Malthouse that the Crows are not ready to match it with finals-hardened Hawthorn and Collingwood in September, the Adelaide coach said: "Our best is good enough".
"I don't see any reason why we can't (match it with the AFL's big guns)," said the Crows coach, who has taken the club from 14th to third in his first season in charge.
"This time last year we had three or four wins, this year we've got 13 wins. It's one of those years where we've shown great improvement.
"It's great that people want to talk about us and (say) we're not good enough and we're not going to go any good, that good sides have beaten us.
"But we've won 18 games from 22 we've played this year (including the NAB Cup)."

BRING ON the SpringChoke. :)
