I was at the Game Yesterday and the crowd was appualing. At 10:30am when the ticket gates opened there wasnt a soul to be seen, usually when the ticket window opens its fairly busy even when a Victorian team vs a Interstate team.
If there was another game in Melbourne yesterday you wouldnt of got all the naturals that turned up (AFL Area almost sold out) and while working i asked the customer what team they supported because they warnt wearing North or Ports Colours and they said neither.
Worrying sign for North Melbourne. They cant blame the weather because it stop raining after 11:30am and it was INDOORS.
The expected crowd was only 16,000 estimated by the AFL anyways so they were under the expected crowd, what a poor effort. Level 3 was closed because with the less staff working at Etihad the more money North Melbourne recieve so they closed level 3. Level 2 was even selling at Level 3 when the GA area in Level 1 sold out.
As i said in the opening paragraph if there was another game in Melbourne, this game wouldve lucky to have 8,000 to 10,000.

"official crowd" Is just spin - how many real people were there .Its like the old days at the MCG when everyone in the ground was counted as the "attendence" I suspect North and the AFL are doing the same again.
In any case a disgracefull crowd on a Sunday with no other games on in Melbourne. So how far the North brand has slipped? Looks like the sympathy vote of a couple of years back has worn off.I wonder how much money was lost with a crowd like that by the club and stadium management?
I reckon North will have their hand out to the AFL again soon. North = the new Fitzroy.
wouldnt think it going by the amount of north trolls on hereThe problem Nth has is other than there supporters no one really cares, as in hates them or for that matter loves them. They just don't count and this will never change, it will not be long before they are gone and another great AFL/VFL team will be nothing more than history and nobody will care other than the die hard supporters.
Even thou they have a small supporter base it is still sad when a club is slowly dieing because the small group that support the club love it as much as any other supporter and should not have to go thru the heart break of it.

Really? Are you the official Venue Idiot?

We're guaranteed $100K even if 3 people show up.
15,109 for the only game in Melbourne today...
The AFL would be ultra disappointed with these figures, especially with the recent revelations of North supporters who have kindly purchased two memberships to keep their club above water and swiping through both cards to boost diabolical attendances. We will probably never know the real crowd.
I love the innovation of closing the 3rd level of Etihad though to ensure it does look like there is a semi-decent crowd for the TV cameras though. What a novel idea. I've thankfully never had to experience this with my own club but well done to North and the staff at Etihad for trying. A small tip for the broadcasters though to avoid all wide shots of the ground in this instance, if possible. It kind of gives the fraud away.
On par with the AAMI Stadium 'banner' look when Port play home games.
1:10pm on a sunday. Not to mention shocking weather.
After having a big night was pretty reluctant to go to a 1:10 pm game just to early. Even when i was walking to the train station almost turned back cause it was pissing down rain. Then train was delayed 20 minutes almost turned around then to.

Barely rained in melbourne yesterday after midday. Had a total of 2.2mm yesterday most of which came between 10 and 11, well before most people have to leave for the game.
Venue also has a ROOF and the minimum yesterday was 12.3degrees which is actually pretty good.
This really isn't a discussion at all, no one listens. Why bother commenting?
Get real - bums on seats is all that matters. You support a slowly dying club its only a matter of time that North end up in Tassie or Ballarat.
The daming thing is even though you are winning you still cant pull a decent crowd.
