Fully understand the team have a lot of players with really poor decision making as well as poor skills but one fact that has been a recurring thing in 2020 is that our unsociable football is having an affect on the opposition. Since the restart no team have won the following week and most have got decent touch up.
Round 3 GWS lost by 24 points to the Dogs
Round 4 Swans lost by 28 points to the Dogs
Round 5 Hawks lost by 34 point to the Giants
Round 6 Dogs lost by 52 points to the Blues
Round 7 *ess lost by 42 points to the Dogs
Round 8 Richmond lost by 12 points to the Giants
Only the Tigers have got close - but they were also 27 points down and reduced the margin.
Its been highlighted during the week the job we did on Cripps but other teams have really struggled after playing us. Zurhaar smashed Hurley and Hooker when we played them and the 2 were woeful the following week. We target the opposition best players and they have reacted to the attention.
Shiel got 2 weeks after having his pants pulled down did something stupid.
Dusty fined for striking.
Cripps fined.
Even the lesser lights are doing things outside the rules in games V us.
Grimes striking, Short misconduct, Arts Striking, Crozier misconduct.
I for one like the brutal brand we play - and most of the great teams were brutal - the issue with us is we don't have the skill to hurt the opposition on the scoreboard. The hurt is carried over to the following week.
Its a shame we don't play teams twice in a row.
And for those punters out there - If you started with $100 and continued to back the team the Roos played to lose the following week then your $100 would currently be $6,541.51 and if the Hawks win $17,007.94.
We need top end talent and with a top 2 and hopefully a 2nd pick in the top 7 it will be a good start. We may not win many more games for the year but if we can knock I few players over on the way then it will be something worth watching.
