It really depends on the 4 we bring in when the deal is done. Whilst getting another four key position or end players like a Marchbank or Tomlinson is great we probably need to snare one that can straight away add to the midfield.

That has been the area we have been struggling up to the bye particularly in clearence work. Our defence is actually our biggest strength right now. I know people are keen to see the back of Rowe but he has gelled well just as everyone.

How far away are we from having NBs as a depth creating machine?

How far away are we from having NBs as a depth creating machine?

2 more years, about the time the rebuild is due for completion. The rebuild of the top side means nothing without the rest of the squad making the same sort of progress. Lot of work still to be done before we can slow down the pace of player turnover, and show more patience with the kids.

Yeah Rowey cops a fair bit in here. Sure we need to plan for the future (in multiple roles) but atm our defense would be thankful the big boy is out there. Many don't allow for Sam to continue his development along with other players. If JGM matures into Rowe's spot than he still makes a very handy depth player considering he can play forward, back and ruck.

Well I am pretty sure we still need to draft 3 players. So the Gws 4 + two 3rd rounders and a 4th.

If we hit that Luke Parker luck we might be golden

2 years... We still have a number of guys who are VFL only quality running around in the Bullants.

Doggies have teams in the VFL and AFL grand finals, that is depth.

We are still a long way off that. When we are making finals at both levels, we will have depth. Until then, we have hopes and a wish list.

Watching Footscray play, there are at times this year and last where I recon they would roll us. Dogs have amazing depth, both sides play exactly the same way with speed and skill, we've got an incredible long way to go to get there. We need to draft, trade and get father son luck like mad for a good 4 or 5 years.

The non-listed players in our VFL side seem a lot less capable (as a whole) than those in other VFL sides. We need to fix this so we are able to bring along the listed players more quickly.
