Nothing wrong with what Richmond and Brisbane have done. You're a commentator or a fully paid up member of a club's coaching staff. You can't be both.

Just don’t like employees of footy clubs being on the commentary teams. Period. Even worse when they’ve had current players commentate games.
Even board members, presidents, etc should be a no-no. That goes for Ricciuto as well. Can’t be both.

Yep, nothing wrong with this at all, and I'm a fan of Daisy the media commentator. It's a potential conflict for her so no other way around it.
I found out on SEN before that Pearce is getting paid by the AFL instead of Geelong.

Nothing. All the tactical and medical stuff is all done in the rooms out the back where the commentators don't go. It is a pointless ban IMO. They didn't previously ban, at least publicly, Hodge or Davis etc who have played and commentated at the same time, plus as mentioned above you have Darcy whose kid currently plays for his former team. There is barely a commentator without a club affiliation.

Because it is like a scholarship. AFL pay part, Geelong pay part. It is excluded from the soft cap. I'm sure there are about a dozen or so women under the same thing around the league, Pearce is just the high profile one.
Sorry, I think I've made an error. I think it's more that her hiring doesn't get included in the soft cap. I think the AFL has that allowance for certain types of people.

Thankyou for providing more information. Is it a women only thing? Is the goal to improve coaching stocks mostly for the AFLW?
