There are critics saying Ledger could even rival Brando in the Godfather.
I would have laughed at that in the past.
But what are your thoughts to those who have seen The Joker in this movie???
I've heard a couple of people go down this path, but they need to be reminded that there was plenty of awesome buzz about this performance well before Ledger died.
The reason Ledger's performance is getting such massive wraps, is that if you didn't know it was Heath Ledger playing the role, you'd struggle to pick it straight away.
All the mannerisms, the voice, the laughter, the mood swings, the licking of the lips - being motivated by nothing by a desire to cause chaos and anarchy.
He nailed it.
Eckhart was almost as good - but the character doesn't give the same scope for a massive performance.
It'd be damn close. You're not watching Heath Ledger as The Joker. You're just watching The Joker. He embodies and becomes the character in a way rarely seen. It's amazing. There are critics saying Ledger could even rival Brando in the Godfather.

Fantastic movie.
The writer's did a great job with the storyline, it was brilliant...leaves things set up interestingly for the next movie.
As everyone has said before Ledger was incredible, totally immersed himself in the joker.
Bale is the best Batman there has ever been.
And i've never been a big fan of Eckhart but he really impressed me with his performance in this movie.
Saw the movie on Wednesday and thought I would wait to post, just to see if it was my massive hype clouding my judgement, but **** NO!
This movie was AWESOME, 2.5 hours and needing a piss for the last hour of the movie, but I could not move from my seat if I tried, every scene was something to marvel at.
Ledger was phenomenal, I don't think I have ever seen a movie villan before and just hoped that he wouldn't die in it so he could be in a sequel, it is just the worst thing that he can't be in the sequel no matter what now, if Ledger doesn't at least get the OSCAR nomination then they have ****ed it up, this movie would certainly fit into the structure of movies that can be nominated, it way different to what I had expected from the movie, and was as far away from a superhero movie as possible, I know it should have been but this was just an amazing peice of art, I have never been so immersed into a movie like this before, every death, every scene had major impact on me.
To those who think the Ledger death hype is what drives the OSCAR talk, then you need to watch this movie properly.
Also Bale was so solid, Ledger's immersion in his Joker really does take away from Bale a bit, but there is alot to be seen in Bale's performance to, and could very well nab him a nomination come OSCAR time.
Eckhart was really good too, I loved the look of two face, I am not sure how it was done, whether make-up or CGI, but it was scary as hell and a far better move from the Tommy Lee-Jones shit from Batman Forever.
The only person I didn't particularly like was Gyllenhall, didn't think she suited the Rachel Dawes role very well and didn't come across as a lawer type to me, Katie Holmes was far better.
Would really love to see where the movies will go after that ending too.

The next movie should feature Jonah Hill as the Penguin.

LOL, it was unintentional, but also a conscious use of the word.IS the pun included?
If only they could put a movie together as awesome as DC have done with this absolute ripper. IT was so well planned/thought out and the acting was brilliant.
