Went to the premiere last night. What a great movie. Heath played the Joker so well and the whole movie was great. It is even better with booming sound so anyone who is going to see it, try see it at a big screen with great sound.

I have never seen a better villain. :thumbsu::thumbsu: 2 thumbs up.

Easily movie of the year, quite possibly movie of the decade. I'm still torn as Superman is still my #1 superhero movie... The Dark Knight is a very close second though.

Only Hellboy II: The Golden Army could top this.

These two novels are the best examples of both; and two of the best books; read them quite a few times each.

Based on these two novels, I can't split either; both of them have their internal struggles and both do what they can.

The difference is, Nolan has finally delivered Batman movies which suit the character - dark, brooding, angry, vengeful; where as no one has actually delivered a movie which does Superman justice.

So Batman and Superman are both awesome, but Bale/Nolan's Batman is miles ahead of movie Superman.

RE: Gotham Knights.

Very disapointed. On face value, I thought it was a good experiment and I liked the previews and the ideas behind the stories. Including Scarecrow, Killer Croc and (most of all) Deadshot really appealed to me.

I got what the writers were trying to do but it just didnt match up well with the animation. Most of it came over as being pretty cold and without heart. There were a few good moments in Deadshot but I've seen Floyd written better in Justice League Adventures.

They would have been better off bringing some of the classic comic books tales to life. 'A Vow From the Grave' by Denny O'Neil and Neale Adams would be one example.

I saw The Dark Knight last night as well. The promotion for the film just doesn't do it enough justice.

It looks like an action flick - the suspense and action scenes are fantastic. I cant believe how great the writing and character driven drama is. That's what really hits you.

The characters from the first film - especially Batman and Jim Gordon all go up a notch but its the arrival of the Joker and Harvey Dent who really drive all of the intense character confrontations and emotional punches. It doesn't go where you expect it too. This is like The Empire Strikes Back of Batman films - dark, gripping and leaving you hanging for more.

Heath Ledger is dominating, dangerous and very funny. They could have done more with him, they left a few Joker things out IMO. They were probably saving them for the next film. There is lots of room for another one.

The great thing is all of the cast have lifted their game, I was really impressed with Gary Oldman as Jim Gordon and Aaron Eckhardt as Harvey Dent.

Christian Bale has once again confirmed himself as the best Batman of all time.

Sorry this is so long but it was such a great film!

Actually how awesome is Knightfall ? I remember reading a novelisation of it back in the mid 90's. I picked up the 3 volume graphic novel series back in late 2006 / early 2007 :thumbsu:

It's an awesome novel; and it shows how indepth the 'comic' characters actually are.

If you enjoyed that, read The Death and Life of Superman, seriously, it's at least as good as Knightfall.

KnightFall would make an absolutely epic Batman Trilogy.

Saw it at a premiere last night, and my God it kicked arse on so many levels.

It was ridiculously better than Batman Begins, and our Heath has a huge say in that.
He is nothing short of incredible in it and steals the show. If he does not win an Oscar for it then it will be a big injustice.

Can't wait to see it again.

9.5 out of 10.

I've never been so pumped for a movie before and boy, what an absoulute awesome film. Loved every bit of it and the characters /Batman / Joker / Harvey, just blow you away..

is this any good

and would they be pumping up heath ledgers performance as much if he was still alive
After I left the cinema today, all I could think about was how F'N good Heath was.
The movie itself was incredible but Ledgers performance you can't put into words.
I'ts one of the greatest performances I've seen. :thumbsu:

Un-f'ing-believeable. Absolutely incredible. It was 2 and a half hours long but it didn't feel long enough. At the end I just wanted more. Now for my summary complete with spolier tags.

Heath dominates life itself. Incredible performance. Oscar worthy.
Gary Oldman inhabits the role of Gordon so well it's sensational. He even looks like the Comic book version of Gordon.
Christian Bale, what more can you say. Easily the best Batman.
Aaron Eckhart did the role of Harvey Two Face superbly. HOW F-ING AWESOME DID TWO FACE LOOK!
Maggie Gyllenhall did a much, much better job than Katie Holmes.
Michael Caine's an awesome Alfred.
Action scenes were superb. Some of those fights were brutal. I'm happy I saw it at Imax. They had the sound system to do the movie justice.
I WANNA SEE IT AGAIN!
It's to Batman Begins what Godfather II was to The Godfather. Took an epic film and blew it out of the water with stunning acting performances.

I saw it today pretty good. But went half hour too much. What disapointed me was not enough fight scenes with the Joker. Heath Ledger deserves an oscar he was that beleivable as the Joker. Christian Bale is the best Batman by a mile.

Absolutely brilliant, saw it today. Easily one of the best acting performances I have ever seen from Ledger. All the other characters performances ranged from great to excellent. Agreeing with the above posters, Bale is the best Batman, and Dent/Two-Face looked amazing.

I personally couldn't take to Two Face - looked a little too fake for mine.
I guess it beats Tommy Lee Jones' version.:eek:
Agreed. In that scene in Sal Maronis car it looked very CGI. Which was a shame because the design looked awesome. I loved the approach they took for it.

Also, was it just me or was Sal Maroni up and walking again VERY quickly for someone who was dropped about 30 feet onto his legs.

LOL didn't take much notice, that was a cool scene though.
