All the best David, thanks for your service to the club.

I always thought he was a good player and couldn't understand the "hate" from many supporters.

Crows "supporters" now need a new whipping boy, scape goat.
Who is taking Mackay's place as the whipping boy?

The quality of this troll is comparable to the quality of David Mackay's onfield performance.

You don't play 248 games and 15 years if you are a dud either.

Yeah you do, if you're David Mackay. He's just an exception in football. People are promoted above their competency, or hold roles they aren't qualified for all the time. s**t look at the Prime Minister.

See Kirky's post, below average/average. David gets to 248 not because he is good, but because he is durable and lucky. He rode the edge of being marginally best 22 and complete s**t delist fodder.

That's some kind of company

Just a bunch of All-Australian, Premiership winning, Showdown medallist, Brownlow medallist, norm smith medalist, club champ players, and David Mackay.

Oh and their Brownlow votes.

Ben Hart (An actual defender) - 12
Simon Goodwin - 74
Tyson Edwards - 75
Andrew Mcleod - 142
Mark Ricciuto - 146
David Mackay - 1

It's no secret that many on here have been very vocal about Mackay, especially in certain threads, but let's stick to the positives. He's clearly been an outstanding clubman over the journey and he always threw himself in the contest despite his frame. Thanks for your service.

Yeah he did go when it was his turn, played with a lot of courage. His boot laces were always tied too. Um, he stuck with the hair style even though it hasn't been fashionable for years, which is admirable.

Does this mean this is our last Mackay thread? It is indeed a sad day! So which player takes over as the fans scapegoat? EH and Framptom seem to be leading the race atm.

Likely no one will ever appoach 248 games for us again, while being so average. We have truly been blessed. We will all miss him.

Thanks DMac. A loyal servant of the club, who always gave his all.

And thank you for hanging up the boots and saving the club from itself.

(Was I the only one who had no idea he had THREE kids? I thought it was just the one)

Actually massive thanks then to Mackay for retiring, massive thanks. Of course the club wanted him to play on ffs.
