Have you actually seen the bloke?... he looks as if hes only 15 years old..Absolute crap. Thought we were moving our 30 year olds on.
31 year old with less career Brownlow votes than legs.
And what if we pick up Ash or another rebounding half back/winger who is good to go?I’m not even surprised.
Our structure didn’t help him at all last year, he actually was one of the very few that tried to provide run and carry but our forward line ball movement was pathetic.
I don’t even hate the guy, look at his body & look how hard he goes at the ball, it’s not his fault he keeps getting picked. He’s busted his ass of for us week in week out and when it’s his turn to go he always goes, no one can deny that
I’m a MacKay basher but it’s honestly not his fault, just gotta support him for another year, it’ll be minimum wage.
what I don’t wanna see is him playing 22 games, we need to develop the scholl’s hamill’s, mcpherson’s back there.

Yep. He’s behind Milera, Smith, Laird, Brown and Seedsman in his general position of choice and Hamill, Scholl, McPherson are all half back flanker types who should be getting games ahead of him for their development... otherwise we may as well delist them now. He should be nowhere near our first 22 next year and his re-signing is hard to comprehend... though not really.Bickley says the Crows have numerous young half back/smallish players who they need to get 40 games in to as soon as possible and can't understand this.
Sums it up.
That's the issue. When fit, he'll play every game possible. He's not best 22 and, hardly has ever been, yet the club continues to play him. That's why I'm pissed off, he'll rob a year's worth of development whilst offering sweet **** all on the field. Just retire Mackay because the club won't have the balls to cut him.Cheap depth. Great club man. Makes a few blues but gives his all. One year contract.
Who really cares? Bit of an overreaction here. He'll play less than half the games.
This might be an unpopular opinion, but I agree that he had one of his better years RELATIVE to his career to date. Also arguably played better than many other players in a lot of our games this season. Again, not saying much and I really hope that he is given more of an off field role next year. Maybe he can just teach elite training standards as apparently that's why he's been on the list for so long. The club must be taking the piss saying he had one of his best seasons.
He averaged 17.2 disposals. His career average is 17.0 disposals. He had the lowest meters gained of the past 4 seasons.

Clubs have, but not for a long long timeSpeaks volumes of the value of Mackay that no other VFL Club has ever tried to poach him.
