This series is a tale of two halves…brilliant first half and average second
Completely agree here. Loved it and really only finished because of how well it started.

Also thought that UDCs security would increase after surviving the nutter in Estonia not decrease.

ALSO, if the response to a shooter on his swim is get under water SURELY the dude swimming with him would have some of those mini oxygen tanks, im no security expert and even i thought of that.

They should have just had him succeed at the convention centre instead of just having it randomly fail due to some other random attempt getting in the way, it would have made much more sense and been less contrived.

Disagree, i was absorbed in the 2nd half of the series as we discover how he became the Jackal in the first place. The Nuria character has developed as the innocent, hapless wife who may or may not be in a marriage of convenience, and who has been helping him since the Belarus debacle trying to capture Norman? The Foreign Secretary has his friends in America with Timothy Winthrop (Charles Dance) being the mastermind behind the hit on UDC What's his deal? It's been intriguing from the get go and every episode has shown us a very perplexing character with the Jackal himself, he's not your normal Psychopath? He uses, he manipulates and he kills mercilessly, but at the same time has empathy with others? He's obviously been affected by the war in Afghanistan and has obtained extraordinary skills with a rifle and has seen a lucrative opportunity arise. I wonder if this sort of offer has ever been made in real life? The world record for the longest confirmed sniper shot was set in November 2023 by a Ukrainian sniper known as the "Horizons Lord" who hit a Russian soldier 3,800 meters away. The shot was made during the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The 2nd series holds great promise. Anyway, i think Isobel was the mole after watching it again, now she is the head of MI6, but my guess is there are powers that be above her who know all about the Jackal?

Just finished.

I enjoyed it, but agree the second half was not as good. Perhaps one of the problems was that some really interesting characters got killed off too early.

Yeah Bianca hey. I'm not sure that the acting was bad so much as the character. Early on I just kept thinking, everything she touches turns to shit, people dying from her **** ups, you wouldn't get way with that? She was cold and incompetent. Being both made it hard for the audience to really accept her I think. (cold and good at job, or endearing but fallible would be easier to like)

Loved the Jackal's back story episode.

It was entertaining without being too heavy.

What were people's attitudes toward him? I found it weird that I was going for him, despite him being pretty cold and leaving a considerable trail of slaughtered innocents.
