The decade that Fashion forgot

I was strolling around the Fitzroy Historical Society tent at the Lions Open Day thingy last Sunday when my eye fell on an attractive laminated souvenir poster of the Big Day Out v Demons at VFL Park. All the players who participated were mug shotted, including Max Richardson ( anyone remember his number ? ) and a number of typically 1970's hirsute faces all looking similar. No wonder hairdressers despaired. But wait .. who's that in the corner ? It's Grant Lawrie with possibly the WORST perm known to man. Why didn't anyone tell him ?

It's terrible when your less desirable fashion moments are frozen in time - any number of 70s wedding photos still cannot be shown without parental guidance.

Yeah, Sticks looks pretty ordinary with that perm, doesn't he! I think he might also have been one of the first footballers to sport an earring???

Oh, and Max was #15. Good value he was in '79.
