Dipper is a Legend !

But what about blighty ? His 'insights' are probably quite good but he says about ten times as much as you can handle, and never lets an incident go. No wonder he had to get away from coaching.

And he kept saying "I'd like to go back to the point we were discussing a few minutes ago" It just doesn't work in a running commentary.

I disagree about Scotty, he's a legend also. Although he tried to be neutral You can still get the comment on tape in the 1991 GF when west coast went four goals up "Oh No!" he shouted

i think dipper is pretty cool. Hes a legend of the game and i think he does an ok job at what he does, which is pretty minimal anyway.
Blighty didnt have the best performance last night although i think highly of him (hell -send russo to the free agents list and pick up blight- not bad recruiting). But he said Too much crap about 5-3-3 zone defenses etc etc, and more often than not he seemed to be whining about something." Why does the player have to do that for???, why couldnt he just straighten up, why is he kicking there for ?? etc etc. He also seemed to interrupt brucey quite often as he was getting all excited. but he'll improve hopefully.
but overall im not too displeased with 7's effort. i like the pre-game "match winning players" bit where it gives some stats and tells you possible opponents. i also much prefer the opening intro song this year (hit hard, go tough or something), to that scruffy heffer screaching away that we had last year. Its much more hard edged.
not sure if i like that "huddo" bloke though- seems like a piss ant to me, also seems pretty nervous when interviewing. was this guy an ump or something ????
anyway thats my critique of sevens performance.
on the Arch scale of 1 to 10- ill give it a 7. so long as john "i hate the bombers guts" russo has been sacked- it cant be too bad.
cyaz.

The Big Dip at least seems like he actually enjoys the game. To many of the commentaters now seem to be intent on (al'a Blight last night) on pointing out mistakes/lowlights.
Dip has a good time and he aint on camera much, leave him be. He still is better than Fly Morris and COUCH!

Kinda relevant though, Personally I prefer to remember the player but liked him on Marngrook Footy Show a couple of weeks ago. Seems they give people time and freedom to talk. Also really liked Paul Van Der Haa (hope I spelt that right, apols to Essendon fans if I didn't) a few weeks. Its the only time I've watched him speak at length and was really interesting.

If you're referring to his Open Mike interview, it was boring as batshit and possibly the worst episode of the series, because he didn't really want to speak at length about anything.

Got a woman fired from my local pub last week because she cut him off when he was pissed.

She had the nerve to put him in his place and he complained to her boss on the Friday. She was sacked that afternoon.

Always thought he was a good bloke.

Total knob.

Are you sure about that? There are such things as wrongful dismissal laws you know.

I liked his comment on Marngrook the other night. They commented on how he played 99 Reserves games before becoming a League player. Dipper said, "Yes, 99 games ..... I wasn't good enough to play 100" :)

I'm sure she lost her job, yes.

I'm not sure if she's taking action over it.

Saw a punch on in the car park of the Tatura cup many years ago, where Dipper was the face of the event.
Drunken angry bogans with their cheap suits and white leather shoes, pushing and shoving at the back of Dipper's car, he calmly walks up and says to the boys "guys, can I just get to my car?", and amazingly these slack jawed clowns all stop beating on each other to let Dipper get to his car, unlock it, get in and reverse out.

I've never seen anything like it.

If what you say is true, she should. Refusing service to people who have had enough to drink is part of her job, and if she gets sacked for doing her job then she has a case. I have had several times when I've encountered Dipper in social occasions and whereas I've never seen him do or say anything offensive, I must admit he tends to give the grog a bit of a tickle at times.

There were a lot of high profile sportsmen there that night.

Bar bloke told me last night that Dipper rang the publican the next day because he was made to look a fool in front of them by being cut-off & that's why she got booted.

Be interesting to see what happens if she does take any action.
