like f?$@ i'll watch the replay..... crows got goals from frees early.... made no difference to the result crows far too good and congrats... but people saying it was one sided are way off 30-31 frees .. that 1 free must've made a big difference

Think about the statement that was made. Think about the accolades that Have been bestowed on Selwood throughout his career. Think about the awards and premiership medallions. His comment was laughable. But I should bother spending my time educating him? Righto.

- dangerfield gets so much attention because he's a great player. Opposition players think harassing him (bumps and taps and niggles) will stop him. It doesn't. The less it works the harder they try. Don't blame dangerfield - greenwood did something he didn't need to do. He wouldn't have done it to any other player. He got sucked into dangers star power. Dumb thing to do. It didn't have to happen, his team already had the footy.

Last week danger got cleaned up (fairly) by Roughead and cannoned into (fairly) by hodge. No other player would be the same after that but this guy kicked 6.5. So what did greenwood think he was going to achieve? Dumb footy, really dumb.

Selwood gives me the shits. He pleads to the umpires constantly and creates infringements against himself. It works. Himbeing hard at the footy does not eliminate the fact he also deliberately plays to get the umpires flavour. But it works. And when players from my team do it and win a free kick in front of goal a lot of fans cheer pretty damn hard.

Geelong are better than any other team at plying the umpires. Sure - it's not the most respectable way to win a game of footy but it's damn effective. It was true of the dogs last year and their exploitation of htb rules.

Other clubs shouldn't whinge about it - they should get better at dealing with it.

Spot on. Smart players play to the rules. Change the rules and smart players will adapt.

Maybe should watch it again because you're talking absolute crap

Crows kicked three goals from free kicks in the whole match - and two of them were to Rory Sloane who got two holding the ball decisions his way for great tackles

The only goal from a free that wasn't HTB was for Cameron in the 2nd quarter, I softish free for holding that was there every day of the week


The umps over officiated both ways but boy they gave your mob a ride

The Danger one wasn't a dive. Was getting up off the ground and Crows player bumped him back down. It's not like he moved into him or provoked him to do it like the Bugg dive a few weeks ago.

It is an horrific look at the game. But Geelong seem to have developed a way to play that draws umpires into a net , its like they train to gain frees. I saw Selwood twice last night , after the whistle blew, either calling for the ball or holding it and looking at the umpire as if it was his free, well both occasions I remember , because my son was having a violent outburst of fury at our TV set, he said look at him he thinks its his every time a whistle blows , on these two occasions it was going (amazingly???) to Adelaide, but he plays with the expectation that he'll be free kicked, and on most occasions he is given frees.
It is how ever low a level, it's a level of cheating, yes.
That he has perfected and he is a blight on the game for that.
Paddy just gets looked after.
Remember I am not saying these guys are not great champions , but they are not respected either Selwood for antics,
Paddy for being looked after, and he is don't argue!
Their courage was never in question, but no one should play to get frees, and Selwood does every week.

what about goals at half forward or near the center early resulting in goals there were a few...but i'm not here to argue semantics, go forward with your geelong bashing, as you were.

Its a wonder they didn't have search and rescue to carry Danger off the ground, only to be brought back as a hero 20 minutes later.
What I'll be interested in is Dangers speech at the Oscars next March?

I already mentioned it wasn't a good look. Dangerfield was always gonna try and suck the ump in, like any smart player would. But Greenwood didn't need to do what he did either which was dumb and gave away the footy when his team had it.
