Perhaps he's just as hard as nails like you are you big old keyboard warrior!
FWIW Jack Darling fakes it every time someone touches him, is 6 years older and 3 times the size.
There is not a softer footballer going around

Cool. Jack Darling is gif fodder. Ginger nuts has put himself on the same path, I bet you're thrilled.

Except one is well on his way to being a gun and the other has pranced around for 7 years showing off his muscles and pretending he's a footballer.
Was setup for him to absolutely tear us apart on the weekend with our best backman playing forward but nah - unsighted!

Blah blah blah.

You know what shows less character? Attacking a 19 year old for "weak character".

Did he ham it up? Maybe. Maybe not. Did he try to puff his chest out afterwards? Sure. He's a 19 year old with 25 games under his belt trying to find his feet and fronting up to a player almost ten years his senior whose just elbowed him in the face.

Extra points for the "staging will happen" intro. Certainly gives the Eagles players that have been doing it for years a free pass.
It doesn't matter that he's 19, he's an adult with adult privileges. Not all young adults go the same staging and after math fake carry on or combine It with attacking national representatives. His actions speak for themselves. You playing the 19 year old card is the equivalent of saying all 19 year olds would do it so it's ok. News for you buddy, they don't and it's not. Many have character.

Clayton Oliver is More of a man than Anyone on this here Big footy Forum. Anyone that says otherwise is simply wrong, and could possibly use some mental help.

All of the Selwood Brothers wish they could be like Clayton & Jack Viney. In actual fact, The Selwoods aren't fit to even lace up Clayton or Jacks Boots.

'Nuff said, Move on, you're all just jealous nuffies. ;)
Spoken like true New South Welshman Lukey!

Let me preface this with Jack Darling is a huge stager, so yes, I know that, thanks for clearing it up.

(G) STAGING

A Player will be reported for staging. Staging can include excessive exaggeration of contact in an unsportsmanlike manner. Staging shall be a Reportable Offence as it may:

»»Affect umpires' decision-making;
»»Incite a melee; and/or
»»Not be in the spirit of the game (unsportsmanlike);

I don't see how there's a more clear cut example than this. If you're not going to cite this dive, then I don't understand why you'd bother printing this section in the handbook.

The other alternative, which seems to have escaped you, is that he wasn't cited for diving because in the opinion of the MRP, there was no dive.

I choose to believe no panel of sane individuals could come to that conclusion.

The staging section even addresses contact. Schofield can have made contact and staging could still have occurred - see "exaggeration of contact".

Couldn't give a shit about Oliver diving, had no effect on the game in my view.

But now that Schofield has a ban, it's a ****ing farce. They called it intentional contact to the head, but from my view, he was going for a strike on Oliver's shoulder, and his elbow clipped Oliver in the chin (if at all), andshould have been classified as careless.

Your grounds for assessing his character at all are spurious at best. Even if you take the most exaggerated view of what happened to paint Oliver in the worst possible light, acting like this defines him as a person is beyond ludicrous. You don't know him from a bar of soap. Develop some perspective and get off your high horse.

Oh and the "national representative" took the first swipe. Of course he should not have responded but he's 19. Adult or not, 19 year olds make mistakes. Except for you, of course.

The AFL just let's diving happen every week and it's a blight on the game. Every week piss weak footballers get rewarded with free kicks for flopping and diving and it has to stop. The only way is for the fans and the media to highlight it because the AFL would rather penalize a jumper punch for its image and allow players to fall over from the slightest contact like soccer players.

Alex Rance slapped Buddy across the chest and then copped one himself and went down like a bitch. He then recieved a free kick for it. He should be handed a first offence fine by the AFL and suspended next time.
Last year when he elbowed jack watts in the back of the head jack viney slapped him on the chest and he fell over aswell

Let's stop these piss weak pricks ruining the game even further.

Post your weekly clips into this thread from the round

Chad wingard last week should have been suspended for his dive.

Hahahahahahaha

A week is a long time in footy, hey buddy?

Players get judged for what they do on the field all the time, even if it's a spur of the moment thing that they regret. The difference here is he is continuing to act like a massive flog even after the incident. He's bringing it on himself and people have every right to judge him for it.

Eagles fans won't defend Darlings staging, he has that reputation and has to live with it. Unfortunately Oliver is going the same way, and he doesn't need to.
