Multiplat The Division 2

Yeah how crazy is it, I need a good clan. It’s impossible to do it with random people.

I also feel my build isn’t up to it. Need better everything..

Even with our clan run it was bullshit. We got the mechanics down but it was like beating our heads against a brick wall. Best we did was get his armour down halfway but hit the enrage timer. Demo seems to work well as the nade launcher does heaps of damage but the window is so small, sometimes it takes longer to get the launcher out.

Can't get over how quickly this game seems to have died off.
I thought everyone I was playing with would come back as soon as the raid released but never see more than 6 clan members on at a time anymore!

I never played as full on as most so still get enjoyment out of random missions and bounties etc. with an end of session gear sort out but it's def not the same going solo as it is in a full party.

Haven't given the raid a go yet and from the sounds of it, it's not even worth the time nor effort....who the hell has that sort of time to put in to one mission!?

I still log on daily but yeah game seems to be mostly dead. Never see a clan member on and my mates don't play anymore either. Really wanted to do the raid. :(

Happy to raid.

Massive did the right thing by delaying the raid to fix bugs and optimise stuff, but it probably took a bit too long and most people ran out of stuff to do. Then when they finally released the raid it just isn't very good. The players who were around at the end of Division 1 weren't there for the raids or encounters, they were there because it was like Diablo with guns and at the moment there just aren't a lot of exciting metas or builds to farm for.

What makes the raids so difficult? Is it that there are tonnes of enemies constantly coming at you?

Combination of bullet sponginess of the first boss and how quickly he can kill you. There are plenty of ads but as long as everyone has decent builds they're no different from regular elites in challenge missions.

First boss, Boomer, only has melee attacks but he has a s**t load of armour and there is only a small window to DPS him. He picks a raid member to chase and you need to destroy a weak point for him to go down and allow you to damage him in a window no longer than 4 seconds. He has a chest item that you have to destroy and if you don't he will regain his armour. During the fight there are laptops that you have to communicate and activate the correct one to disable shields that render enemies inside them immune to damage. If the shields are activated they can only be taken down by mounted machine guns that the boss will also destroy after a certain amount of time. This is while enemies constantly spawn.

Last time I did it we had a good rhythm and used the machine guns to create a kill zone for the boss but there is no room for error. One mess up meant we missed destroying his chest device and he regained his armour and we didn't get it down again in enough time for him to hit his enrage timer (which is when he destroys the machine guns). It's awful design. We are a well geared and well coordinated unit but just couldn't get it done. I prefer Destiny raid design where it's a combination of gear and execution. Division 2 seems to very gear and build specific rather than just skill. The only viable builds I've read to clear the raid are PvP builds.

Got through Boomer + second boss + buddy and lucy.

Game is trash in comparison to Division 1 though. PvP is bad.

Haha what? All I've read so far is how this game improves on Div1 in every way. I'm starting to feel glad I didn't purchase this game and saved the money for Rage 2.

What build and specialisation did your group go with to get that far? My DTE and armour build (using Unstoppable Force etc) that melts challenge missions just isn't cutting it in the raid. Switching to Demo takes a couple bars off Boomer every hit with the special weapon but I get gimped against ads because I'm losing the head shot damage from Sharpshooter.

Division 1 end game and build options through gear sets were still far better which is a shame because I think Division 2 is better in every other aspect.

Anyone coming back for Warlords to give it another crack? It seems like they finally realised all the things that made Division 1 so good by the end, except they've also probably missed the boat. Might be why it has been on sale for $4.50AU (on PC Uplay at least) to get as many people on board as possible and hoping they stick around. I'm only peeved they tanked on the content for so long as the Year 1 pass has been a bit of a waste.
