The true question is "what is a sooz"
Something that probably makes you ashamed to be a North Melbourne supporter?

Edit: Did I just turn this into a Sooz thread? I'm thinking cat that I made a mistake here. Anyone wanna tag her?? :D

Extend the Swans COLA

The AFL needs to recognise that the Swans are keeping footy on the front pages nationally for good reasons whilst so many other clubs are doing the opposite.
A firing Swans brings our game more exposure and money from which all clubs benefit.

In a proper organisation, such a contribution is richly rewarded. Yet the AFL, at the behest of navel- seeking dinosaurs like Eddie Everywhere and Mick the Cranky Prick try to distract eyes away from their B-grade performance and punish Sydney, playing on the anti-Sydney prejudices of the idiots who listen to them.

It's time for some business maturity. The Swans should not only retain the COLA but there should be an additional reward payment for showing the sporting world how great management and culture can lead to success. It's time the AFL stopped being a backwater Victorian sub-league for bogans and spread it's wings.

Port Adelaide should receive similar reward payment for their efforts.

Imagine a million dollars in Port Radelaide. Man you would be taken down quicker than a cheesy poof in front of Cartman.

The Swans don't make money, they cost money. Until they are free from the AFL's charity dependence, they are not a real club

Now, if you want to propose a salary cap, based on how much media exposure, and money is generated by each side.... I'm kind of okay with that. I think we'd do just fine

Your club is purely an ego trip for Fat Eddie. That's where you get your media exposure - along with your players hanging out with crims.

Your crowds are big because what else is there to do the hundreds of thousands of toothless tattooed unemployed bogans in chilly Melbourne?

So, the salary cap of success should only be judged on the past 2 weeks of media exposure, and theoretical financial success, not actual money earned?

Do tell me more, you really are doing a great job of sounding like a 7 year old :)

Even outside the AFL, the Swans have established themselves as an iconic sporting club - due to the magnificent team-first culture and great success over the last 10 years - fighting to establish itself in the most hostile, competitive sporting city in Australia. We are an Australian icon.

The swans have dragged the VFL away from remaining a backwater game for Victorians only - and made footy a true Australian game.

While Victorian clubs have made the news for dwarf lighting, tanking, hanging out with crims, drug cheating etc, the Swans have become famous for their culture, professional management and strong success in the last 10 years.

To attribute this success to COLA is typical of those pathetic envious fading clubs going backwards due to atrocious management despite all the advantages of being big clubs in an AFL-dominated city. That attitude is a national embarrassment, completely un-Australian.

I would look to the independent clubs, like West Coast and Adelaide for what it is to be a true national success

It's funny that you brought up Collingwood's unemployed fan base, there is a fair comparison here

The Swans are the dole bludgers of the AFL. You're the fat bogans from Moe, living off the charity of others, claiming your handouts as achievements

I look at West Coast, Adelaide... and maybe in 2-3 years, Port as symbols of what interstate power looks like.

This, it makes all the sense in the world. However I think the extra cola should come from fees/donations from the 17 other clubs for appreciation of the swans bring into the game.

As the most desirable location, the swans are without a doubt the glamour club in the competition , they are a great representation of our great game. Nicole Kidman, Ellen degenererereris , the rock, mark wahlburg and Sofia vergara are just some of the celebrities that call the sydney swans their team. For too long the rest of the afl have been riding the financial coat tails of the swans. A small financial token of their appreciation is a fair deal.
