Ok so hearing Chris Judd describe our list as A1 got me thinking. And ontop of the ridiculous Champion Data terminology to grade players I thought I would put my own profiling of the list together.
Apologies if its done elsewhere but I thought I would store this rating away now - on the eve of the season and then do again at the end of the year to see who improved or fell out.
So this specifically based on the player going into 2018.

IT DOESNT take into account potential.
IT DOESNT take into account previous heroics. (hence perhaps the harsh rating of Morris)

The categories are
- A Grade (Stars)
- B+ Grade (Cusp of A Grade who arent that far from being considered stars)
- B Grade (Definite Best 22 but have all Australian like qualities)
- C+ Grade (Cusp of B Grade) Definite Best 22.
- C Grade (Best 25 type players that are def not B grade)
- D+ Grade (Cusp of C Grade – Not Yet Cemented a Spot)
- D Grade
- E Grade (Little exposed form)

Difficult subject as it's always so subjective. While I disagree slightly here or there (eg I'd move JJ to A-grade and Picken up a level and would drop Dale a level) I think that's a reasonably close grading.

I suspect Judd's going slightly outside your rules though. Surely he'd have to be expecting some of our 23-25yo players to be moving into their prime and maybe some of our younger players improving rapidly too (eg Williams, Dunkley, Naughton, English, Young). On exposed form I couldn't describe our list as A1 or whatever he is supposed to have said.

going by that list profile , we are a mid table side
simple as that

but there is RFI in the younger players
but IMO i dont think guys like the following will be a-graders
Bailey Dale
Caleb Daniel
Lachie Hunter
Toby McLean
Tom Boyd
Bailey Williams
Josh Dunkley

if we want to be a top4 side we need 3-4 more a graders

Where did he say the list is “A1”??

Liam Picken? He’s in our top 5 players when it comes to standing up in big games. This list is bullshit. If Picken tagged Judd when he was in his tagging days, Judd wouldn’t have got a kick, we all know the job’s he’s done on Ablett in the past. Shame Bevo doesn’t like tagging!
