Bear with me, as i am about to display a new height of optimism

The sydney loss to richmond has changed things, dramatically

Sydneys are currently on 38 pts, and their last 3 games are against Geelong, st kilda and Brisbane

We are on 36 pts with North Melbourne, Collingwood and Footscray to go

I can only see sydney winning the brisbane game, which means that if we beat North Melbourne (which is a 50/50 game) and Footscray (which we should win), we make the Finals

Highly optimistic i know, but staranger things have happened

this is being discussed in the key non-freo games thread, but yeah, do-able as long as the players are all administered with an injection of enthusiasm directly into the balls.

Got my vote for comment of the year.:D
:thumbsu: sadly, it's true. thinking we can match it with north at etihad at etihad requires a leap of faith that i can't get up at the moment, although sandi will be good for the extra run and mundy comes back. how that experience translates is almost negligible when the team is so seemingly disorganised. maybe i'm the one who needs the injection.

Well we have been given a reprieve of sorts but playing like we did yesterday doesn't inspire much confidence in our ability take advantage.

On the optimistic side its another week to get a bit more match fitness into a good few and Mundy back. The tactics part of our game however seems to have done an acl.

With the prospect of being seen a sad bast*rd, I almost hope we don't make it.

Hear me out before you give me a bake, we haven't been as good as we could have this year, injuries cruelled us badly.

BUT if we fall in, and we would fall in, we would be making up the numbers (5-8th) and the line "but we played finals last year" would be trotted out next year. It would be a cop out from an under achieving year. Especially if we don't improve our position.

I would rather we give the top 4 a big nudge and be legitimate contenders for the big game next year.

A fully fit Sandi, Barlow, Mundy, Suban, Morabito wouldn't do us (or anyone) any harm.

From the Pavlich perspective, the window has another year or two before we farewell him, Elvis, Groves and the team will be a very different proposition.

Sorry I'll leave my cue in the rack. If anything the boys might have a dip and that I can accept but really believe we are not up to it. Our season is some where between 9 and 12.
