Enough silliness, B.O.T.

Ballantyne was the difference last time and this time "The Glove" is waiting for him, fresh from giving young Cyril another touch up.

We have Bastinac to cover Hill this time.

I expect Harvs to come up with a plan this week that has Ballantyne starting at full-back and Hill in the ruck.

Heh, not too happy with the coach in the purple city?

He's a Sheedy understudy, what were you expecting?

With the prospect of being seen a sad bast*rd, I almost hope we don't make it.

Hear me out before you give me a bake, we haven't been as good as we could have this year, injuries cruelled us badly.

BUT if we fall in, and we would fall in, we would be making up the numbers (5-8th) and the line "but we played finals last year" would be trotted out next year. It would be a cop out from an under achieving year. Especially if we don't improve our position.

I would rather we give the top 4 a big nudge and be legitimate contenders for the big game next year.

A fully fit Sandi, Barlow, Mundy, Suban, Morabito wouldn't do us (or anyone) any harm.

From the Pavlich perspective, the window has another year or two before we farewell him, Elvis, Groves and the team will be a very different proposition.
Disagree. Considering our season was wrecked by injuries. And it was. Finishing in the 8 is a great result. Last year Eagles had similar injuries and look what happened to them.

Dont think can get there but every club always says finals experience is invaluable for young players. And I imagine if they make the finals under the duress the club has had, they will take alot of confidence from that. And anyway if we got anyone of Eagles, Swans or Carlton in the first week of finals, and dont suffer anymore injuries this year, we could give them a run.

Missing the 8.. just cant see how it helps. I mean of course we wont win it, Pies and Cats too good on every line, too experienced. But another final, it is a pass.

You sad bastard !! ;)

If we're good enough to beat North and the Bulldogs away then we'll hit the finals in reasonable form. That would be 6(?) of ten away from home which would be a great record and a real springboard for next season.

Surely that's just as likely, if not more likely, if we finished 8th this year than 9th or tenth? Unless you expect to get a far superior player at pick 16 than at pick 20?

So you'd rather we didn't finish in the 8, than finish in the 8?

Back on topic, Rocket Eade implied that Cooney won't play again this season, that he wants to have a look at some younger players, and they lost Dale Morris to injury.

If Fremantle beat North and if the Saints win against the Swans we're a huuuuge chance to make the 8.

Ha the door sure is wide open whoever wins next week should make the eight.

The only problem for us is that we have to win and we couldnt really run into a worse team who will fight to the death!!! But at least our destiny lies in our own hands it would be nice to finish off the year with a final or two. C'mon the Dockers!!!

Hey, settle down pal. Not everyone who doesn't share your opinion is a troll.

FWIW, we have terrible record against the Kangas away. Last year with probably less injury troubles and better form going into the game we got belted by 50-odd points. With our yo-yo form this year, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if that scenario eventuated, lose vs Kangas and then beat Collingwood following week.

The thought of meeting the Eagles in the elimination final at Subi excites me. Immensely...
I thought that would have excited the players as well, inspiring them to a run of wins resulting in a home final in week 1 and a sudden death game against the slime in week 2.

I thought wrong. Where's that ball injection?

aha was half joking, hence the exagerated swearing. but losing by 80 points to north then beating collingwood, and giving zero reasons as to why is just stupid.

imo we have about a 60/40 chance against north and about a 40/60 against collingwood. so there is a chance of us beating collingwood and losing to north. however if we lose to north by 80 we have NO chance of beating collingwood.

Brisbane looked pretty good on Saturday (although they were playing Gold Coast), and if we're lucky Swans might lose to them meaning we will only need 1 more win to get in, unlikely but possible (honestly Brisbane haven't been playing bad all year, just there shocking last quarters).

It will be a hard ask to beat North away. On paper we are better, however I can not see how we can possibly win against anyone with the style of footy we are playing.

What ever happened to our run through the midfield. Why do we insist on playing the boundary on the right wing coming out of defence?

At one stage I thought wow! We finally have a team that can pinpoint targets in the 50. Now we can't hit a handball target on most occasions.

SAYING THAT
We have shown mini bursts of good play, and have probably been unlucky in some umpiring decisions at either end which can have a big impact - ask any Eagle why we got to within 1 point.

I will be tipping us this week and honestly believe we will win, but I tipped them the last 2 weeks which shows my support for a club underachieving in a supporters eyes. North probably feel the same way?

If we beat north and one of bullies or collingwood we will finish 8th imo. Swans will not beat the saints. Along with this I think Wet toast will finish 4th with carlton 5th.

So we knock off carlton like last year at etihad, Wet toast lose to Collingwood/Geelong. Setting up...

Wet toast vs Fremantle qualifing final, we pay the wankers back for the derby losses this year in the best fashion knocking the crabs out of the finals...this would be gold.

Make no mistake this will be a huge round of footy with our game and St Kilda v Sydney being so meaningful.

I'm predicting a high scoring, goal for goal affair under the roof and it may just come down to who has the nerve in the 4th, something we have struggled with losing so many close ones this season.

Best of luck lads.
