While I agree that most 17-18 year olds are mature enough to make sensible decisions, footballers are not necessarily the smartest kids around. But I would have expected ALL of them to ask: "we've had 35 injections in some warehouse away from the club without a doctor present, is there something odd going on?"
"And why did we have to sign consent forms?"

And why did several players refuse injections? Don't say they were scared of needles, that's just an excuse.

And the most important question: the players who have had the injections have strength/stamina/recovery advantages over the rest of the competition. Why should they still be allowed to continue playing?
I agree with most of that about being injected, but it is out of context with AH response to my post.

I was, and am, talking about these kids before they are even drafted (so they are even younger) having their parents stand up to the total dictatorship of the comp and say "no I will not allow my son to be drafted to that club".

Maybe now after this court case etc one or two might, well I at least hope they will.

But AH thinks this isn't the role of a parent and the "kids" should know exactly what their rights are and go it completely alone against the most powerful sporting governing body in Australia.

I'm sure the players would have had reservations about what was going on
I'm sure they asked the Club questions

I'm also sure the Club answered those questions in the best interests of the Club
"I understand your unsure, but trust us, we have the best sports science man in the business, Mr Dank, overseeing this"
"Look at the gains leaders like Jobe has made"
"We need everyone together on this, for us to become the most feared team in the AFL"
"Success will come if we all follow this through"
"Trust us"

There is still one thing above all others that annoys me with this whole thing.

The kids that got drafted last year and not even ONE parent with enough balls to stand up and say NO my child will not be playing for these drug injecting scabs. The afl can huff and puff as much as they like but I am pretty sure that any parent who doesn't want their child playing at this corrupt drug riddled scab of a place would also have no problems at court.

Will be interesting to see if any parent, or players from other clubs for that matter, just straight out says NO.

This would be the icing, if no kids from the draft could be FORCED to go there simply by having the number in front of their name read off the draft sheet.

As for trading Ryder (or any of their players), for what, which player from another club would be dumb enough to ever accept such a trade. This little fact seems to be forgotten (esp by scum supporters) that both players in the trade have to agree, so they are back to trading for draft picks, well it'll only take one parent to stand up and say NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO and they are completely finished.
Prick of a parent to take a shit on their kid's dream.

Hird no longer enjoys the strong support of club doctor Bruce Reid. Hird's wife Tania accused Reid of letting her husband down before the start of this season and Hird has repeatedly claimed that all the drugs given to his players had been approved by the club's medical staff;

If Hird is right then where are the records?? If they know what was given, prove it! All complete BS that just gets recycled over and over again.

should be all about the hawks - not Essendon - this week
It's a nice thought. But it is all about Buddy if it is not all about Essendon. The only way to change any of this, even if only for 10-15 minutes is to win this week.

Has anyone figured out why Dank showed up for the smackdown yet? That was a hilarious side show. Either they were supremely confident of winning - lol - and were looking for a massive group hug for the papers afterwards, or he was there to send some sort of message.

Why was Dank there?

r inferior
ASADA will probably backdate it 12 months..with advise from the AFL..:p
Jokes aside, not much chance of that happening now that Essendon have chosen to be belligerent and challenged the process in court, something the players happily went along with.

I don't see how a 3 week Cronulla-style verdict would be appropriate here.

They voiced their displeasure at this time last year which is why Essendon has gone quiet pre GF. They will probably still be voicing their displeasure same time next year too. The scum will be fighting multiple law suits by then.
