The real sadness I feel about the whole saga is that the *scum haven't been shut down. Wound up. Wiped from existence. Forgotten. Which is what they deserved.

Total institutional annihilation would have been the only just punishment.

But it was not to be. A man can dream, can't he?
I don't know. Brendan Goddard is their captain. In some ways, total institutional annihilation would have been more humane.

And when they return they will be given a heroes welcome never mind the fact that they tried to cheat their way to a premiership (and failed to do so lol).

I too wanted the club to burn to the ground but at least we will be able to call them drug cheats forever :D. But old mate Gill (and idiots at Channel 7) will say not to boo because it's not on.

Look on the bright side, once the players lose their appeal the court cases will be on the horizon.

A slow death and further turmoil is not out of the question.

Is it right that they can still get their suspension increased?

It would be funny if they end up with 2 years suspensions!

What do you mean "never mind", that's precisely the reason the supporters think they're heroes.
The supporters have never once had a problem with the fact that their players cheated, they're only angry that they got caught. Tear away all the bluster, and bull and you'll find that every single one of them would be happy for their team to win via cheating.

How many times have you heard * supporters say "If we cheated, we mustn't have done a very good job, we didn't even win!" because fairness doesn't matter if you think your very existence deserves accolades.

I don't believe the suspension can increase.

I think at best(for them), it all goes back to the CAS and gets re-heard.

Fun.
IF they managed to be successful in arguing that CAS no authority to re-hear the case then I guess they get off...but I think that argument holds less water than a sieve so play on!

All suspended Bombers will re-sign with Essendon for next year
I have no doubt of this.

They will all resign to a desperate Essendon who will flash the cash to keep their twisted narrative in-house.
The players & their managers should see it as a back-up security contract. They should also continue to talk with other potential suitors.
The players still can, at any stage, activate a clause which allows them to leave as delisted free agents.

In November, Essendon pleaded guilty to two charges laid by WorkSafe Victoria for breaching the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act over its handling of the 2012 supplements program.

Lawyers’ advice to several player managers and the AFL Players’ Association is the players would have a strong case for breach of contract.
t’s believed the AFLPA would strongly support any player who wanted to leave the Bombers and would also support that player leaving without a trade being organised between the Bombers and the new club.

Effectively, Essendon would receive nothing in return.
If the players stay, the Bombers would be forced to pay overs to keep them.

They were taking about it on MMM this morning, openly saying that the "drug cheat" has had his Gold medal stripped.

Amazing how other countries have "drug cheats" but here we have 34 players banned for a 'supplement scandal'.

It was the same on Sen - they were chatting about this guy and the battle he has faced getting his medal and how he deserves to be recognised and then next up some bomber re-signing and its "that's great news"

What bloody planet are these idiots living on and can they not see the irony - I was absolutely gob smacked
