Just when everyone gets used to the draft they now give a 'priority' pick to Brisbane and Sydney, in exchange for a second round pick.

On a roll from my fixturing system I have a drafting system for discussion

In the national draft there is a 'national' pool and pools for Vic, WA SA and NSW/Qld

Draftees can nominate for their home state draft only, and clubs within the state have an option of choosing from that pool, or the national one. During proceedings, after each round, draftees can abandon the home state pool and move into the national one.

This allows youngsters with a definate need to stay near home, provided they are prepared to risk they could be overlooked.

The only problem is that kess than half AFL players come from Vic whilst the majority of clubs are in Victoria- so the interstate clubs would all be huge beneficiaries

Thats not a problem Don its a feature!
