- Reproduction of articles
Pick out the important part, up to a paragraph in length, and post that along with links to the original article. Nobody is permitted to post entire articles, regardless of where they have come from. By the same token, dumping links with little context to drum up traffic for your off-site content is not acceptable.
- Show a bit of patience and respect
Not everyone is a draft and trading expert, so show some patience and respect. By all means defend your team, but don’t attack the poster, their club or representatives of the club. Be kind to new posters, we all have to start somewhere. In particular, please be respectful of our resident experts who spend considerable time and effort scouting the U18s players each year and making their insights available to us.
- Dragging posts and discussions from team boards
If you want to reply or criticise something on a team's board post there, not on here. They are separate boards with different rules and expectations.
- House-keeping
Please search first before creating new threads. AFL player movements and list management is discussed on the main board, while draft prospects are discussed on the Draft Hub. Threads regarding past drafts, trades & free agency moves can be found in The Wash Up, where a more relaxed approach is encouraged. Our new Women's Draft, Sign & Trade board houses similar content for the AFLW.
Draft and trading games (other than 'BigFooty Official' competitions) are to be conducted on the Other Footy Games board.
- Phantom drafts
For those who wish to guess the final draft order and order of players selected are encouraged to post in the Draft Predictions thread. We also have an official BigFooty draft tipping competition each year, so be sure to keep an eye out as there are prizes to be won!
For those who have the time and interest to develop a full Phantom Draft thread, please ensure that you are using the correct draft order (as of the time of posting), include at least the full first round, and reasoning/player descriptions to justify the decisions you have made. Threads which do not contain these attributes may be merged into the Draft Predictions thread or deleted at the discretion of the moderators.
