Was it just me or did Nathan Eagleton played sensationally as a roving forward during Sundays Game.

I know you can't judge him by one game, but I think he is back.

two things I noticed.

1) he presented himself and tooks marks out in front of himself.
2) he positioned himself front and sqaure of bigman marking contests.

I admit I have been one of his harshest critics simply because we gave up a couple of handy players for him and he hasn't earnt his hefty pay packet.
But on Sunday he attacked the ball with vigour, harrassed the opposition when they had the ball, tackled and kicked an impressive goal. Keep it going Nathan and I will shut my mouth.
Didn't we get Wiggins as part of the deal? If we did that trade could turn around for us this year as Monty is 30 and Powell was traded from Melbourne.

Powell walked out on Melbourne so they got nothing for him.

Trading Powell, Monty and Cameron was never going to hurt us in any big way (we were on the slide with an ageing list, we would have been better for the last three years, but not by enough to make much difference).

Whether it does much good is still to be decided. We bought in a younger guy and some draft picks for them (Cameron was traded for 2 picks of players that are still with us) that could still form a part of a premiership side for us. I think at the end of all the careers involved in the trades that year, we will have got more senior games out of what we bought in than what the other clubs got with what we gave away.

I spoke to Eagle during a Werribbe finals game last year and he was very confidence he was going to stick around and have a better year in 2003. What did Walllace do to him? Maybe the pressure of being wanted so badly by the club told on him?

Oh gotta love you guys really, Eagle plays a great game and you still bring up the ****en trade!

Hey guys just in case you didn't know Nathan Eagleton didn't ask to be traded to the Dogs. He didn't ask the Dogs to trade away Powell and Monty, it was Wallace and co.

Yeah you rather a crippled whore like Steven Powell than "Mr Entertainment" Nathan Eagleton?

Who knows maybe Powell can get in 5 games before he leaves St Kilda when his current contract expires.

Go eags hope you have a great year. And as for the trade get over it thats all im going to say its over 3 years now and the trade was done for a reason.I was upset as anyone when we traded Monty as he was one of my faves but i got over it and its about time everyone else did to.Go blame wallace for the trade dont take it out on eagle and give him a fair go everyones quick to get behind him when he plays well but he'll get bagged even if he plays one bad game give the guy a break.
