Won’t have our hands on this until at least 2024 IMO, they’re working on Starfield at the moment and that game is still way off.

What was the point in anoucning it then?I guess don't even think about this game at all until at least PS6/Xbox Series XOne Turbo 5000.

With not having to port the game to PlayStation, hopefully it'll debut quicker.I guess don't even think about this game at all until at leastPS6/Xbox Series XOne Turbo 5000.

Maybe the Microsoft courting was already on the cards as these deals take a lot of time. Bethesda wanted to pump up their price so did the tease so they can then add it to their forward projections even though the team "working" on it was probably the whole online team.To cover their failure of a launch of Fallout 76 and it's horrible state. Purely a distraction tactic
As much as Bethesda is rolling in money since signing exclusivity to Microsoft, I hope it bites them long term. With not having to port the game to PlayStation, hopefully it'll debut quicker.
Not Bethesda's decision. Microsoft own them now and the head of Xbox (Phil Spencer) has said Starfield and all of Bethesda's new catalogue (including ES 6) will be PC and Xbox only.I reckon Bethesda are talking out their arse. There is no way they will not have a Playstation version at some point with the amount of money they will be missing out on if they don't.
I would worry if it turned into some sort of bidding war for exclusivity. Can you imagine if Sony turned around and said fu** it we know have all the rights to rockstar games, EA and Activision.
Didn’t sony purchase housemarque recently as well as other developers?Sony have come out and said it doesn't believe in owning/buying developers and would rather buy the titles of games so developers can produce games for whoever they wish and gamers can have access to any developer made game.
The only thing Sony are looking at are making a pass like Xbox that combines PS now and PS plus.

Consoles sales isn't what MS are aiming for, it's long term continuous stream of money from subscription like their Office products now. It’s definitely a calculated, but risky bet on such a household game. In terms of just consoles sold, PS has sold over 10 million units, with still such a large back order, whilst Microsoft won’t officially publish numbers it’s believed to be in the 4.5 million thus far. That’s a lot of potential players missing out on such an anticipated game. I think Microsoft are banking on this and a game like starfield or whatever it’s called to entice gamers to buy the other console at some point.

I did call it from the start it'll be exclusive, it's like Disney+ putting content on Netflix, it just won't happen. At the start I wasn't convinced Bethesda would sign up to something like an exclusivity deal, but as time has gone on and Microsoft's plan is becoming more apparent (playing the long game, incorporating console and Windows PC into a single platform, accelerating gaming to the digital age) I don't doubt Spencer now that Elder Scrolls, Starfield etc will be exclusive.
As a playstation owner I'd be happy with Mirosoft giving early-access release to its consoles with every Bethesda release, if they released to other platforms at a later date. It might even be an advantage to us who aren't xboxers as we might miss a lot of the earlier release/bug/patch cycle that seems to be happening more and more as games get more complex.
Of course you would, lol.
I'm sure they will too, when Sony start releasing all their exclusives on Xbox, at a later date of course.
